Hello Greenlion, I heard your team has changed the color to white from green because of Real Madrid, so are you going to change your name to "Whitelion"? :p

Well you don't always have to have the newest version. Old ones become vintage. They have history. :)

I just like the fact that, because most companies use one base design, Shenhua will usually end up looking like Chelsea.

Ouchies >_< Oh well I can live with that ^_^
If you could tell me about teh CSL and ACL matches that'd be awesome, if you can't post it on the boards PM me and I'll send you my e-mail or MSN addy. ^_^

Coolies, more fans is good! Is there anything in particular you could tell me about the club that I really should know that I may not. I've played through a whole season in Football Manager 2006 with Shenhua so I've got a pretty decent idea on players and the like. :)

we have a good team, usually finishing 2nd to Dalian. Shanghai unfortunately is more fascinated with European football, so most of the soccer fans don't follow Shenhua. Overall the city has a good fan base for Shenhua but it's just that Chinese Soccer is not too popular among Shanghai fans.

In EPL, you have your Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chealsea. In CSL, you have your Dalian, Shenhua, Liaoning, Shandong.

Thanks for that history thread greenlion, 'tis very helpful :)
I assume that there is no, or at least not much, animosity between the fans of the various clubs? Here in Australia my club HATES 2 teams but we get along well with fans from all the other clubs, and I assume that's what it's like in China?

Gamba beat Da Nang 15-0, total humiliation, no excuses

Too bad for Dalian because it's only 1-0 on a home leg. We still have an away leg for Cheonbuk. 15-0 for Gamba is radiculous. The goal differential will not favor Dalian, Dalian's only chance is to do better head to head against Gamba and Cheonbuk

Shenhua's jersey's last year were unique (though I guess they are similar to Chelsea's black/grey away shirt from last year)...This year's jersey is the same design as Chelsea (except Chelsea's had gold for their centenerary, Shenhua's has white), then again, it's also the same jersey as England, Sweden, Ireland, etc etc....haha, you guys are like Chelsea, you don't win crap! hahaha :D

China fans, with some notable exceptions (Shandong, Liaoning) don't travel well and so the only real hatred is in the local derbies. Shanghai had the only real intra city derby in China (Shenhua-Inter), but with Inter Shanghai moving away and becoming Xian Chanba, the passion is gone. Inter's support was relatively weak, but Shanghai's 3rd team, Liancheng's support is even weaker. So while they still have an intra city derby, the passion is probably less than when they play Beijing or Dalian.

Everyone hates Dalian, but that's because they are far and away the most successful team in China. There is also a very big rivalry between Shanghai and Beijing, so the Shanghai-Beijing-Dalian rivalry is pretty intense. Beyond that, the rivalries are basically just the provincial derbies, like Shandong-Qingdao, Beijing-Tianjin, Shenyang-LiaoZu.

Seems it's always so easy for Dalian side to beat a Japanese or Korean team, Dalian is the real thing of China!!

    careful careful

Dalian still has 2 away leg vs Cheonbuk and Gamba

If they can Draw or win those 2 games, then Dalian is for real.

yeah the counter attack was good but wide out shoot by xuri, lucky just before gamba should open the score on the CK if the dalian defender didn't head the ball. Chen Dong is good. the main pb is Fernandihno. Match on live CCTV5

Chonbuk is 2-0 at the HT
