I just checked the Concacaf website and found the lead story on their homepage is about the Quakes' game. Seems Municipal has some problems going in...

    http://www.concacaf.com/news/article.page/1269

The site appears to have a lot on the game and the tournament in general. Enjoy!!!

    Go Quakes!!!

I'd go for the 1-1. Anything better would be some sort of miracle. Of course, I'm figuring in the battery and urine bag coefficient.

    Quakes 3 - 1 Municipal

Goals by Ibsen, DeRo, Yves and Agoos.

Red card to Ronnie for neck-punching the ref, causing him to crap his pants.

Boy Wonder starts up top and scores...

...with Bianca Kalich later that evening.

And a round of freedom fries for everyone - courtesy of our own datruthhurts.

Dero is still injured. Alvarez, Ching or Mullan?

It will be tough against a team 7 games into their season playing at home. I would be very pleased with a draw and a chance to move forward at Sparten.

I thought Ibsen was history? He should have kept the "soccer hair" and he might still be on the roster.

If Ronnie's going to play like some French queer this season, I say we trade him.

Ah, well, I guess it's be nice to opposing fans day here:

There is a (Spanish) webcast here:

    http://www.lared.com.gt/

They're having a kind of extended and relaxed pregame show now, so I would expect that they intend to run the game in a half hour or so.

Holy heck!!! I thought there was gonna at least be a matchtracker somewhere. I took 8 or 9 years of Spanish, but I never used it. Can someone who understands give match updates? Please, please, please!!!

I was rushing around trying to get things done so I could follow the game. Now I can't. So disappointed! :(

Heh, I have about 8 years of French, no experience speaking it, and no spanish, but I pick up plenty listening to Spanish broadcasts.

I don't see a tracker on MLSnet or SJQ official, but that doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere (try matchtracker.com?)

BTW: Anthems now, so game is starting very soon.

I was thinking that too, but it's over now. Quite beautiful, despite it's length.

My goodness, I thought I could understand some Spanish, but as soon as the game started, that guy is talking so fast, I got totally lost. Just hearing the occasional Quake name every so often.

Yes, very very fast. This is going to be beyond my ability to understand, I think.

Although, I did pick up the corner kick.

Actually, it was kind of funny, earlier in the preshow they were discussing the way to pronounce the player names on SJ :) He certainly seems to have it down now.

Woo hoo, advertising break. This game brought to you by Pepsi, Beer (didn't catch the brand) and Alka Seltzer :)

I'll give this guy one thing, he can make a corner kick sound like a legitimate scoring opportunity :)
