"CSA executive director Kevan Pipe said yesterday his organization nonetheless will go ahead with a bid for Canada to play host to the CONCACAF championship in 2007, along with other options."

I think it is crucial that the CSA ties in some sort of competition with the building of the stadium. The government might not want to help fund the stadium if the Gold Cup (or some other competition) does not come to Canada.

CSA also announced today they'd like to host one of the groups for the Women's World Cup to be held in September if the tournament is given to the US.

I would love to see this happen. I think the USSF could be willing to give one group to Canada because it would take off some of the pressure of finding stadiums in the US.
