Re: emelec here is the short. besides candelario and noboa, little to no talent. a good sign for the future is 4 of the u-17 players are from Emelec. Let's hope these guys become stars.
Re: emelec We didn't make the playoffs, but the future is very bright all teams suffer a lapse every now and then but I'm satisfied with the new acquisitions...
Re: emelec so figueroa is going back? interesting, not surprising since chemo del solar(cristal's coach) dosnt seem to have him in his plans at all good luck to him
Re: emelec yes, Figueroa is coming back baby!!! Sporting Cristal don't have much of a team anyways, he's better off here at Emelec, el chemo can likc a fat one, he wants to lay the blame on Figueroa y Mosquera(colombian) when it's the Peruvians that just suc...
Re: emelec sure ok its just that his charrua(sergio leal) has turned the team around with some nice performances so you have to go with a winning team and with figueroa we wernt doing jack, up front(not all his fault of course) and btw most of the blame has been placed on the older peruvian players, not your boy gustavo
Re: emelec not to worry for la clausura we will do better. i have emelec symbol on my arm and it has pain & glory written on the top and bottom. right now im in pain but glory will come soon. y ya lo ve y ya love es el equipo de emelec
Re: emelec En donde esta que no so ven los Mari**nes del Emelec, En donde esta que no so ven los Mari**nes del Emelec jajajajaja
C.S. Emelec from Ecuador Emelec was founded in 1929 as a soccer and baseball team, then a South American championship took place in Ecuador, and Emelec was the first team to have its own stadium so the best soccer players from Latin America as the argentinian Alfredi di Stefano, who is one of the most remembered stars from Real Madrid and River plate, came to play in our field and remembers our people with gratitude where he became famous. The founder of our team was George Capwell, an american business man who managed the "Empresa electrica" (where our name comes from) and loved baseball, but our people always prefered soccer, so he had to create a soccer team for his employees who appreciated him as a boss. Emelec was the first ecuadorian champion on the year of 1957 and was the first ecuadorian team to transfer a player to the Italian Calcio : he was Jaime Ivan Kaviedes Emelec today does not have good managers, so we lost the chance to bring Kaviedes back home, and our rivals (Barcelona Guayaquil) took the opportunity that they always wanted, because through Ecuadors soccer history, they always like our players. Emelec supporters remember Kaviedes because he was another fan on the field, and he used to kiss the blue jersey every time he scored, thing he never did while he was playing for our rivals. There are many uniforms you can wear, but there is nothing than can change your true love, the blue and gray colors that mark our souls, where you made good friends, and where the best days of your life happened. The first time and European team was interested in Kaviedes, was because Perugia´s president read about him on a website. Because he scored 43 times in the ecuadorian soccer league And all of the fans were counting every goal "Boca del pozo" was the first known supporters group in our country, since 1980 and we follow our blue team, everywhere they have to play, Emelec was born in Guayaquil, but today we have supporters from the highland and other provinces of Ecuador. Best regards,

Re: C.S. Emelec from Ecuador In the year 2001 Emelec played the finals from the "Merconorte Cup" which was a tournament between the northern nations of Latin America. we lost the title in penalty kicks but the FIFA ranked us number 28 in the world which is the highest ranking that an Ecuadorian soccer team has received from the FIFA. A week later, we won the national title against El Nacional (a soccer team from Ecuadorian Army) in out small but comfortable stadium "George Capwell" in honor of our american founder. Our rival just needed a draw match to become champion, but after a corner kick, Richard Borja launched the ball to Carlos Alberto Juarez´s head , and he scored for our 9nth national title in the year 2001. In the year 2002, it was a lot harder than 2001 to become champions, because we needed 2 results to happen in other stadiums to acchieve the miracle of becoming the "bicampeon del milenio" (2001 and 2002 the first two years of the 21th century) And it happened, Barcelona couldn´t win agains LDU quito and El Nacional lost 4 to 1 with Deportivo Quito. And the last minute of the second half, our captain Augusto Poroso (who plays as defender) scored the goal we needed making a "chilenita" (you get yourself horizontal in the air and score) and the crowd became crazy, and we singed and danced in the street that afternoon. The managers of the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation had the national cup in Quito, because El Nacional and Barcelona were playing there, and they had the biggest option and Emelec´s fans had to wait 3 hours until they brought the cup to Guayaquil and celebrated.
Re: C.S. Emelec from Ecuador i remember this ********, i was there in Guayaquil in front of my TV with a lot friends outside in the street cuz Barcelona was playing in Quito against LDU we used to be drinking a lot of tropico(aguardiente) that day
Re: C.S. Emelec from Ecuador I'm a stadium fan.. Do you have a picture on what the finished capwell will look like and how many fans will it hold?
Re: C.S. Emelec from Ecuador creo que asi es como va a quedar el estadio cuando se terminen las obras y va alvergar 45 mil personas incluido todas sus suites se lo ve bien comodo
Re: C.S. Emelec from Ecuador That's looks great! I can imagine 45k singing "Y ya lo ve". Are they going to make the pitch any bigger? I remember reading that it was the smallest field allowed by FIFA regulations..So Ecuador will have 3 great stadiums...Barcelona, Liga de Quito and Emelec.. Rumor had it that El Nacional was going to built one also? http://www.ricardomortola.com Here is a projected plan for Boca's new stadium but I doubt that we'll leave are current one.
