Early Saturday kickoff after a Wednesday night fixture. Something that Klopp has complained about many times before. Kelleher Trent Konate Virgil Tsmikas Endo Szoboszlai Jones Salah Nunez Gakpo
wouldn't be surprised to see Q start to give Virgil or Ibou some rest. in midfield, endo deffo earned another start, and Jones should start for sure. I'd start Grav and give both Mac and Dom a break for 60 minutes. starting to look thin of choices these days in all areas. damnit.
I think you can push these players for one more game, because they have a week off after this. A lot of them probably won’t even travel to Belgium for the Europa game.
agree in general, but I'd be concerned about putting Ibou out again to start. he hasn't been back that long and the last thing we need ... etc ...
Weren't we in a similar position a season or so ago, with a meaningless game where Tsimikas played and got hurt, ands was subsequently out for a few weeks (months?)? Our game on Saturday morning is an important one to win...WIN it! Our game next Thursday is pretty much meaningless... Give a few of the boys a chance to stretch their legs...
Klopp: "Allison looks good but I don’t know if he will be good enough for tomorrow, we have to check that with the medical department and Alison himself of course. "Alexis Mac Allister doesn't look good, so we have to see day by day. We were hopeful after the game that it's not serious, we have to wait to see how he shows up here today, I don’t expect him to be ready tomorrow. It’s stop and go, well have to see. I don't know about Thursday yet or next Sunday [at home to Manchester United]." "Alison is back in training since yesterday."
That to me sounds like Allison will play. If he’s in training he should be good to go. It’s not like an outfield player who needs to build back up their fitness.
or, protect him even more and keep Kell in for the next 2 games. Ali training doesn't necessarily = 100% recovered.
last season we came away with 1 point (0-0). one of the fixtures we absolutely need to improve on if we want to get top 4. same with Brentford, Forest and Bournemouth away (three effing losses).
Must win. Is Endo now 4th choice CB or am I forgetting someone? With Matip out and I Ibou a bit injury prone, I am feeling a bit nervous about our depth.
Oh I dunno - maybe Gomez and Quansah? I do think they might loan someone, unless a player they like is available.
Yup Quansah's quick development to date has been a massive boost to our defensive depth. Gomez is always a bit of a concern because of his history of major injuries.
Just Matip out leaves VvD, Konate, Gomez and Quansah. So as things stand, we are OK. But one more injury would get me nervous (unless very short term).
The “spoiled” supporters of Crystal Palace * will get another glorious treat this weekend with the early Saturday kick-off against Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool. The Eagles’ only win in their previous eight matches came at Turf Moor against Burnley and they have suffered demoralising defeats to Everton, Luton and Bournemouth since. Roy Hodgson took umbrage with the fans booing his side’s dismal efforts against the Cherries on Wednesday. Palace were poor throughout, barely laying a glove on Andoni Iraola’s side, and deserved criticism. Picking a fight with the supporters is rarely a sensible move, regardless of a person’s standing at the club. Hodgson was never favoured at Anfield in his dreary, short-lived spell as manager, and it is unlikely his popularity will drop to those levels in south London. If he wants to get the supporters back on side, though, he will need his team to show more fight, regardless of the result. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...league-10-things-to-look-out-for-this-weekend * .... the Owl doing his usual "diss the fans" schtick I see.
MacAllister shouldn't even be in the remote frame for Thursday's game. Play the least played of the 25 .. all of them. I don't care if we lose
