My brother still uses "shut up Sven" in conversations. I miss special 1 tv with the little Ronnie puppet. "I get the baaaall, I score the goalllls, celebrate with teammmm but not with Scholes." "You two schtill not getting along?" "No."
Sorry haha, I read the first line of your post about the prem being hard to watch once upon a time and went straight to the comment section. Beautiful post. Rep.
wasn’t 18 yet the first time I went to Kings Head, Arsenal Chelsea FA Cup when we lost to Drogba’s knee, 1-0. The most fluke goal at the time. Then I turned 18, got a fake ID and started going all the time This was a couple years later when Rick B brought the FA Cup for us to see.
Oh $5 cover, you had it good! When I was younger, I’d sometimes have to pay two or three times that much, and then lick road clean!
@Rick_B! I almost gave him a shout out many pages above, because he had a huge part To play in getting me back to see Arsenal live and completely fueling that trend. I haven’t had time In the last 24 hours to write up my origin story, Like many of you have. Maybe I still will, we’ll see. But for now, just to say: Rick was an interesting guy with some controversy swirling around him, which I only really got hints of. But he was really generous in his efforts to find tickets for Yank Gooners in the 00’s. And for that, I am forever, grateful!
Thinking about the match, Palace have nothing to play for so you would assume their players will not go steaming into any 50/50's, risking injury to Arsenal players. At the same time, Raya lands funny and tweaks his knee and that's a disaster for the CL final. I think they need to heavily rotate. Kepa Salmon - Norgaard - Saliba/Gabriel - Hincapie Zubimendi - MLS Madueke - Dowman - Martinelli Havertz/Gyokeres Play Havertz and Gyokeres each 45m and tell them to go earn a start in the final (although I believe who finishes the game is more important that who starts if it goes to penalties).
Lord, it's such a balancing act to deal with. On the one hand, you wanna keep everyone fresh for a potentially grueling final which could go 120 minutes plus penalties. OTOH, you don't want to have your ideal first XI in a meaningless game, one or a few pull up limp and then threaten your plans for the final.
Oliver Glasner: "I want to congratulate Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, his players & staff for winning the title after 22 years. It's a fantastic job he's done. "A special congratulations to Eberechi Eze, he made the right decision to go to Arsenal & not another club."— Ryan Taylor (@RyanTaylorSport) May 21, 2026
