“Kante won’t be in the squad. He hurt his hamstring, it is a low level hamstring injury, maybe a week (before he returns),” Lampard told reporters in a virtual news conference.

“Kovacic trained with us but won’t be ready. (Centre back Fikayo) Tomori had a setback, hopefully (he is) back next week.”"

Maybe give young Gilmour another run out. After his last rather poor showing, he needs to get back 'in the saddle' again quickly.

    Pulisic. Giroud. Willian
    ...Mount........Barkley
    ..........Jorginho

    i would say, start Tammy,
but some report came out saying he wants a new contract with more $

Well yeah he is on 50 a week apparently for 2 more years while CHO is supposedly on 130/week,and Werner an Zyech probably doing ok. He is our leading PL scorer with 13 goals (most before he got hurt) so if I was him I'd expect to be paid and locked up for longer. Actually don't understand why we don't lock him up for 5 years at CHO money, still cheap for a starting striker these days and if nothing else will lock in big sell on value.

But the best place to earn that deal is scoring on the field and he has 2 years left, no reason to sit and waste him for any time or up to 2 years; he appears to be hungry and giving his all every time out, lacked from lack of service mostly last start.

That said I agree I would start Giroud for his form and mostly for his hold up play and his cultured play in attacking a side that will sit back. Tammy better in a more open match, where he can counter and where we need his high-pressing speed and work-rate on D.

Lampard, clearly influenced by all of my posts, seems to have frozen out Jorginho.

Pulisic with 2 goals today. We win. Go team.

Hoping Reece can get back into form in this one. I'm sure I'm not alone in having very high hopes for him.
