Hi all, Winter hibernation is over for the Crusaders! It is time to prepare for 2003 and the year our team actually wins a title. The Crusaders are an independent supporters club of the Washington Freedom that has been crusading for DC since Nov, 2000. The last two seasons have seen us pull off 11 successful roadtrips, publish 10 issues of our fanzine By The Sword, raise over $1000 for Freedom-related charities, host tailgates before every home match, and spread the gospel about the team and league. Oh yeah, and support our team like heck from the stands! Our first meeting of the season will be this Thursday, January 23rd at 7 PM at FLANAGAN'S IRISH PUB in Bethesda, MD. Flanagan's is located at 7637 Old Georgetown Rd (corner of Woodmont Ave), just two blocks west of the Bethesda red line Metro stop. For those driving, there is a public garage on the same block. If you wish to linger after the meeting, live entertainment begins at 9 PM. Much depends on how involved our members get in helping to make things happen.
