Anyway... lets get to some real news. Igor Tudor is at the helms in Galatasaray after Gala fired their coach Rinkerink. Igor was under contract with Karabukspor. Gala basically went behind them and agreed to pay his contract termination and signed him up for 1.5 years. This is a big step for him. Will probably be some comparisons here between him at Gala and Bilic's time @ Besiktas JK. Different coaches in terms of style and demeanor. Best of luck to him. Igor Tudor will be officially unveiled as Galatasaray manager in today. pic.twitter.com/ugWZupDgZk — Galatasaray EN (@Galatasaray) February 15, 2017
Igor Tudor will also have Croatian assistants: Hari Vukas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hari_Vukas Sandro Tomic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandro_Tomić Toni Modric (Fitness coach) They will coach: Muslera, Sneijder, Podolski, de Jong, Josue.
Ivan Juric lost his job at Genoa CFC this past week. The team started out they were leaking goals. The 5-0 lost to Pescara sealed his faith. I think this was a good experience for him as he is still a very young coach. Waiting to see where he will end up next.
Former Dinamo Zagreb boss Zlatko Kranjcar has been appointed as new manager of Sepahan Isfahan in Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL) Branko Ivankovic is the current manager of Persepolis FC in PGPL.
Ivan Juric has been rehired as manager at Genoa CFC. He was let go 6 rounds ago, or under 2 months ago, but now has been rehired by the club. His contract is now till the end of the 2019 season.
Just a run down of the managers 2016-2017 seasons in Europe -Slaven Bilic's West Ham Finishes tied for 10th in Premier League with 45pts -Ivan Juric's Genoa CFC finished in 16th place in Serie A with 36 pts -Igor Tudor's Galatasaray finished tied for 3rd place in the Super Lig with 64 pts -Nenad Bjelica's Lech Poznan finished tied for second place in Ekstraklasa with 42 pts -Niko Kovac's Eintracht Frankfurt finished in 11th place in the Bundesliga with 42 pts -Ivan Leko's Sint Truidense VV finished 12th in the Jupiler Pro league with 30 points, but then won their playoff group and almost landed a spot in the Europa League. -Damir Buric's FC Admira Wacking finished 5th in the Austrian Bundesliga with 46 points. And heard through the grapevine that Ivan Leko has been appointed new trener of Club Brugge KV. Congratulations to him on his new appointment. Very happy for him as the looks to have had a very fine season with Sint Truidense. Will be watching him to see how he does at Club Brugge next season.
I hope that means Brodic will be given a chance at the main team. Viareggio Cup showed the kid deserves and is ready for it!
Damir Buric has taken over the club SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2.Bundesliga. He was previously at FC Admira Wacker Mödling in the Austrian Bundesliga. Romeo Jozak has taken over as manager at Legia Warsaw. This will be his first coaching/managing job. He previously worked as technical director for Dinamo Zagreb http://legia.com/aktualnosci/romeo-jozak-is-the-new-head-coach-of-legia-warsaw-56481
Zoran Vulic has taken over as manager @ Apollon Smyrnis. They play in the Greek Super league. Outside of Croatia his longest stint was at Sheriff Tiraspol , between Oct 2015-June 2016, where he won the Moldovan League.
Slaven Bilic(West Ham) and Ivan Juric(Genoa) both were sacked this past weekend. Both had poor starts to the seasons and they ultimately paid the price for their teams poor performances
I should also Mention that Zoran Vulic only lasted 9 games at Apollon Smyrnis. He was released Dec 11, with a record of 2 wins 4 loses and 3 draws. The Greek super league usually has a high turnover rate.
Robert Prosinecki will coach Bosnia - Herzegovina. His cultural approach and great football observation should help to Bosnia - Herzegovina a lot and create real environment and atmosphere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Prosinečki According to this research, every third Croat has origins from Bosnia - Herzegovina. http://www.dnevno.hr/vijesti/hrvatska/svaki-treci-stanovnik-hrvatske-podrijetlom-je-iz-bosne-80805/ There are not many examples where one ethnic group (Croatian) has two homelands. Prosinecki accepted lower financial conditions compared with those in Azerbaijan. He knows that he needs to progress in coaching career. Every good result with Azerbaijan was not so visible. Bosnia - Herzegovina has better players than Azerbaijan, more chances for EURO 2020 participation. Jozo Simunovic accepted to play for Bosnia - Herzegovina. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jozo_Šimunović "Šimunović had become frustrated by the lack of opportunities to play for Croatia" ....same as Mato Jajalo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mato_Jajalo Goran Karacic plays for Bosnia - Herzegovina, his brother Igor Karacic plays for the Croatian handball team. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goran_Karačić
Nikola Jurcevic - new coach of GNK Dinamo Zagreb. Sat 10 Dinamo Zagreb 1 - 4 NK Lokomotiva Because of this defeat Mario Cvitanovic went off the coaching position. Nice way to get rid off, Dinamo B team won against Dinamo A team. And A team coach goes bye bye. Nikola Jurcevic - origins from Tomislavgrad, just like Dinamo Zagreb leader Mamic. Zlatko Dalic - NT coach - Livno, just like Davor Suker, president of Football Federation. Coincidence.
Branko Ivankovic won the second consecutive league title with Persepolis FC in Iranian premier league.
Coaching changes in the last few months: Romeo Jozak was sacked by Legia Warszawa and was replaced by his assistant Dean Klafuric. The change took place in the middle of April. Nenad Bjelica was just last week sacked by Lech Poznan, also in the Polish top flight. Igor Tudor was named the Manager of Udinese Calcio on April 24th.
An update on Croatian managers; Igor Tudor lasted just for matches after being appointed. He was hired on April 24 and stepped down at the end of the season, being June 30. Dean Klarfuric took ever from Nenad Bjelica, after Bjelica was released. Unfortunately he lasted only 15 games in total and was sacked August 1,2018. Niko Kovac has moved on from Eintracht Frankfurt and now the coach at Bayern Munich. Best of luck to him!
Branko Ivankovic reached to 2018 Asian Champions League final with Persepolis FC but lost the title to Japanese side Kashima Antlers (2:0)-0:0. He had only 9 senior players in his disposal due to injury and suspension of other players. He used u21 and u19 players to fill up the gap for last 6 matches. He is a bit old school but pragmatic. So far he has won two league titles and a runner up in PGPL, a semi final and a runner up position in 2017 and 2018 Asian Champions League in just 3 years of his presence.
Tomislav Stipic was appointed club manager of Grasshopper Zurich. He was appointed March 6th, 2019. The club is currently last in the Swiss Super League. Stipic. His previous job was manager of Eintracht Frankfurt's U19 team. Igor Tudor has been re-hired as manager of Udinese. He was hired on March 20th, 2019. This is for the rest of the season. His most recent job was also with Udinese where he was the care-taker for the last 4 games of the 2017/2018 season. He finished that short stretch with 2 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw.
Igor Tudor finally got a good club. Hoping to see less exotic destinations and contracts in good leagues and clubs.
