Now, someone tell me...is this the only version of Chasing Amy on DVD? Is this why the audio commentaries are taken from the Laserdisc, along with some of the outtakes? Also, did Criterion only do Laserdiscs for awhile, staying away from DVD? I'm confused as to how this is such a special DVD...
Criterion started out as a Laserdisc company. "Chasing Amy" DVD is only available as Criterion edition. You were right on both counts.
"Okay, convience stores. Quick stop" "My friend had sex with a dead guy in the bathroom" "You knew that girl!?!" Very funny movie.
Nothing like a good reference to Clerks. All of those Kevin Smith movies are good, the best being Dogma.
Dogma is much better if you are Catholic. I went to a Catholic school and everybody there loved it (at least the students). My Jewish friend thought it was really funny, but he only got alot of the jokes after we explained them.
Chasing Amy blows. And Im a Kevin Smith fan. Thats the only Kevin Smith movie I didnt buy or will buy. "THIRTY SEVEN?!"
From, Clerks, the 37 scene was one of the funniest in the entire film. Seriously, this is important. How many? 36. Including me? Oh. 37. 37!?!
Dante: 37!?, Hey my girlfriend sucked 37 D1cks!" Customer:"In a row?" ------------ Outside as shes storming out of the store, some dude hanging out out side the door: Dante: "HEY TRY NOT TO SUCK ANY D!CKS ON THE WAY TO THE PARKING LOT" Dude.... walks off to find the chick....
Next question, did Criterion just rip the A/V from the Laserdisc then and put it onto the DVD? I know these DVD's are supposed to be higher quality, so perhaps the took it from the original film source? Also, whats the big difference between Criterion and Superbit?
all of kevin smiths movies are great. they're even better if you live around red bank, you get more of the jokes that some people wouldn't catch
Criterion is a company that chooses specific films (for whatever reason; usually older films) and tries to get the highest quality of picture and sound, plus great extras. Superbit is just from the movie company and gets rid of all extras to make the picture and sound the highest quality possible.
