Newspapers Praise Cristiano Ronaldo After Portugal’s Title, and Even Argentinians Admit: ‘As Great as Messi’ Argentinian newspaper Olé: “Eternal. As great as Leo Messi, even though ours is the best of all. At 40 years old, and as enthusiastic as a teenager, Cristiano Ronaldo has won yet another title with Portugal.” Spanish newspaper Marca: “He’s no longer the forward who struck fear into defenders with his runs, his leaps, his bursts, his whiplash shots... That’s far behind, because he’s lost that spark he once had. But the goal — oh, the goal! That’s his trademark, his domain. If you give him even the slightest edge in the box, it’s over. That’s how it was, that’s how it is. And that’s how it will be until the day Cristiano gets up and says, ‘This is as far as we go.’ He left the final injured. And with the entire stadium on its feet. A standing ovation worthy of the legend he is.” Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo: “His generational duel with Lamine Yamal didn’t disappoint. He scored Portugal’s second goal, making it clear he hasn’t lost his touch. He’s now scored 24 goals in finals, both for clubs and country. He left to a standing ovation from the crowd.” @ESPNBrasil
"Winning a World Cup doesn't change anything. I've won everything, and I'm not the greatest in history. Messi is a genius, but the greatest and most complete player in history is Cristiano Ronaldo." – Kaká
It’s not a real quote I saw it previously and the trail leads back to Facebook which is notorious for spreading fake or misattributed content. As a general rule I don’t trust secondary or tertiary sources unless they explicitly cite the original source Also the goal here isn’t to ‘prove’ Ronaldo is better than Messi. What I’m trying to highlight is how Ronaldo is perceived by legends of the game. Whether they rate him as superior, equal, or even below Messi, the common thread is and always has been respect.

I think they are at the same level. Cristiano is a predator in front of goal. You can’t let Cristiano shoot from anywhere in the opposition half. Goalkeepers are scared of him. You have to be honest, goalkeepers are scared of Cristiano. They are not so scared of Messi in those areas because he doesn't have the same power as Cristiano. I think at this present time he is right up there at Messi's level." The jersey had the message "To President Donald J. Trump, Playing for Peace." You cannot hate this guy. There are maybe a handful of people on this planet with a profile like Ronaldo’s (he is very arguably the most famous person in the world) who would make a gesture like this right now. The key word is right now when tensions are extremely high and people in the political sphere are on the fence He made a move and even if it’s just ‘a simple gesture’ it is worth a lot more than it first appears. It’s very easy to be highly opinionated and vocal about current events when you have little to lose. Whether you’re protesting in the street or tweeting behind complete anonymity. But when you’re a globally recognised figure even taking a neutral stance can risk damaging your entire brand. Unfortunate as it is demanding or requesting peace today can be misconstrued as hostility or siding with ‘evil’ So full props to him for this gesture even if i highly doubt it will have the intended effect on the recipient of the shirt/message.

You are confusing on the pitch performance and dedication with off the pitch persona and branding. It is more like yourself is so invested in the Ronaldo vs Messi narrative that you cant see a tree from the forrest. What has Cristiano signing a shirt for Donald Trump has anything to do with football? You constantly jumping from one to another as if it has any relevance to amything. You do realize that both are basically billionaires with one of the best PR teams in the world by their side? I dont understand what attracts you to that fakery in the first place.
‘Sexy’ Beast is throwing Lionel Messi under the bus just to score a point not because he believes what he is actually saying His GOAT is definitely not any pre war player It is definitely not Pelé It is definitely not Diego Maradona it is definitely not Cristiano(no quotes from sexybeast are even required) Who is it then? Fuc*ing Micheal Jackson??? The weather is too warm here to fully engage with his shenanigans I can’t discuss let alone debate with someone who constantly flip-flops, has no consistent stance, and will throw any player under the bus just to win a forum debate.
You can misquote me, pull my words out of the context as much as you want, it is only a testament of your own character and desire to win a forum debate. Btw, “The mark of an intelligent mind is to entertain a thought without accepting it.” – Aristotle (often paraphrased) “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson, Self-Reliance (Implies greatness requires the flexibility to revise one’s views) “It is the highest form of self-respect to admit your errors and to learn from them.” – John C. Maxwell (or variants thereof) “The ability to change one’s mind is a superpower.” – James Clear (A newer but increasingly popular quote) Keep that in mind, no pun intended, before searching for an out of context statement of mine from years ago.
So did I misquote you or did you change your opinion? Dude don’t waste my time “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time” Abraham Lincoln
You deliberately misquote me in a bad faith. Publicly for everyone to verify for themselfs within few seconds and one click. You quoted me saying: The actual quote and full sentence is: The actual context of the quote is in a conversation with Al Gabiru in which he claimed that there is nothing Messi was better/more talented at than Pele, within the thread called "Top-3 dribblers of each era". The full post of mine from which I was misquoted is this: My actual argument in that conversation, summarized: Pele is better/more talented than Messi in some aspects, and Messi in the other. Both are the GOAT tier talents. THIS IS NOT A HONEST MISTAKE ON YOUR PART. You read the sentence in which I said this: The bolded part "in certain aspects" did not fit your narrative and crafted personal attack against me, so you DELIBERATELY deleted that part and added a full stop at the end of the misquote to make it seem like I said something completely different. And you knew that. YOU ARE CAUGHT RED-HANDED, carlito. This is not about Messi vs Ronaldo (or SayWhatIWant, Isaias, etc.), this is about your deliberate, manipulative, dishonest argumentative tactics and gaslighting. There is no way out of this one. What is in order right now is apology of yours towards me. Once you do that, I can explain further what I meant by changing my mind in the previous post.
Greatness for me is about the titles a player helps his team win, the relevance of those titles, and the impact this player has on winning those titles. I give a lot of weight on longevity and concistency also. Talent per se is a factor but for greatness it's the least important factor. It could be a tie breaker if all other things I said are equals
What did I spin about you deliberately misquoting me? Everybody can verify that for themselfs. You didn't even deny it (because you can't - evidence is here). Misquoting me which you are doing again with this quote: This refers to dribbling alone. I stand by Messi being a better dribbler than Pele. The first two quotes are from 2019 lol. 6 years ago. That makes me inconsistent? Not subscribing to my words from 6 years ago? Then I am flip-flopper. Messi is better than Maradona. This I still believe (as you do yourself on the record haha) Analogy of Ronaldinho being Maradona without 1986 WC is bogus and untrue. Any other quotes? May I get an apology now?
