Beautifully reasoned. You clearly demonstrated you argue from a stance of logic and not emotion. Bravo.

It's not my fault if your "arguments" hasn't reached the minimum level, the threshold to deserve a proper response. That's why a guide would be useful when arguing.
But if you cared to write me a bunch of things and is still upset about the answer, open a thread about the theme and we can, vaguerosily, solve some points about the subject.

Btw, I asking, with curiosity, another question now, about who was the better player in the frametime: Cristiano Ronaldo between 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 OR Vinicius Jr between 2021/2022 to 2023/2024? I have them on the same rating, but what do you think? and why? If you don't want to answer that, it is OK.

    Not upset at all pal.

And I would put CR7 definitively above Vinicius, in that if given the choice between those two versions I would choose CR7 because CR7 still dominated in the Champions League in that period. In fact, I am pretty sure CR7 scored nearly all of Juventus goals in the Champions League knockout stage while he was with them - and he was Serie A MVP in 2020/2021.

Vinicius was not definitively better during the course of that aggregated period even if it could be argued, although not definitively, one of those seasons was better than CR7’s in that period.

The question is actually simple: if you need to win a game and you have the chance of choosing one or the other during those seasons you cited, CR7 would be the unanimous answer - the overwhelming amount of people would choose CR7. That’s the answer to your question.

I think Vinicius also decided or contributed in a lot of high profile matches between 2021/22 and 2023/24, perhaps in more matches of that caliber than Cristiano Ronaldo in Juventus time! They are on equal foot to me as a player.

About evaluationa, I did a best case scenario for Cristiano Ronaldo and that was the result:

    2003/2004 to 2005/2006: 7,58
    2006/2007 to 2008/2009: 8,67
    2009/2010 to 2011/2012: 9,08
    2012/2013 to 2014/2015: 8,83
    2015/2016 to 2017/2018: 8,5
    2018/2019 to 2020/2021: 8,25

Tentatively, I think his best season was 2011 and in that I raised it above 2010 and 2012. I raised 2008 as well and equaled it to 015 with the 2010 and 2012, raising some other seasons too, but that is the best case scenario.

    In resume:

    Cristiano Ronaldo's
    Best season: 2010/2011
Two best consecutive seasons: 2009/2010 and 2010/2011
Five best consecutive seasons: 2009/2010 to 2013/2014

maybe this is a stupid method of analysis, and maybe there are things I should add or change, but I will repeat it nonetheless: let's take the 2011/12 season, where mourinho complained about the fixture schedule. however, in this scenario, let's substitute that season's teams with others.

you have a mediocre 10-man team, with players rated 7.5 out of 10. this team is scheduled to first play the version of 2022/23 manchester city that defeated real madrid 4-0, and just four days later, face the version of 2012/13 bayern munich that defeated barcelona 4-0.

If you had the chance to add any player from history as the 11th man to this team, I see no logical reason to choose the 2010/11 version of cristiano ronaldo over the 2011/12 version.

What makes you say that 2010/11 was better ? was the 2010/11 ronaldo's finishing better than the 2011/12 version's ? I know his dribbling was better, but what else was superior ?

For me, 2010/2011 was the best Cristiano Ronaldo version, yeah, everything included, he never looked more on point athletic than this version to me, looked definitely a second faster than his 2011/12 version, and then, the better dribbler, crispier with his actions, the better ball carrier. But not only that, in a still evolving Real Madrid, Cristiano his 2011 version still had a better non penalty goal rate [0.99 is his second highest rate in league carrer just below his historical 2015] and created more big chances [0.62 per 90 is his highest in carrer probably] than in the 2012 when Real Madrid reached its highest level overall, thats in a controlled La Liga competition.

Surely, in that year he did faced a still visible superior Barcelona - Real Madrid was still catching up - and was eliminated in the Champions League, but Cristiano Ronaldo also produced his best El Classico match for me - in overall performance - in the Copa Del Rey final.
For the NT, I also think he was quite on point almost all matches when the opportunity arrived. Spain 2010 is a example of it.

That's the most dominant version of Cristiano Ronaldo I noticied.

Surely that isn't a big difference for his 2009/2010 [which at times looked even more impressive] and his 2011/2012, but if I have to choose one, this is the one for me. He never looked a more capable footballer than this version to me.

This is a common claim that states "
In 2010/11, Ronaldo had 3344 touches for Real Madrid, but only 82 (2%) came in the penalty box.

He scored 53 goals in 54 appearances that season for Real Madrid"

That's why I asked if you think he was a better finisher in 2010/11.

But even if that’s true, he scored more goals in 2011/12.
He was more consistent in 2011/12.
His reaction time and defensive involvement didn’t get worse in 2011/12.
He delivered better performances in big games and against stronger teams, both with Real Madrid and Portugal.

So he certainly didn’t pose less of a threat in either big or small games in 2011/12.

He scored more goals in 2011/12.
His consistency was clearly better in 2011/12.

On top of this more match winning goals in 2011/12

more goals againts la liga top 10 in 2011/12

If Real Madrid was clearly the better team in 11/12 season, then it was normal to Cristiano Ronaldo score more goals and be more consistent, yet he did scored less non-penalty goals and created less big chances per 90 minutes in League [that is a clearly higher G/A output in absolute terms in a team who scored less goals in total in 2011] while also looking a inferior dribbler and ball carrier due to his - yes - slighty worse reaction time and overall athleticism if compared to his previous season [Cristiano had higher production in 2011 than in 2012 while touching the ball even more].

Eye test tells us about player's autonomy. which was larger in 2011 compared to his 2012.

... and like I said his best El Classico for overall performance imho was in 2011 Copa Del Rey final not after, and I think he looked superior against Spain in end 2010 than in 2012 as well, not by much, but still. But overall, watching all his comps, I don't see how 11/12 Cristiano was better than 10/11 - or even his 09/10 version. Real Madrid was better, that's for sure.

Also, no such thing as TOP10 in La Liga as some type of credential, the difference between the two outliers in the league for the TOP10 rated team was about 350 points.
The difference between the best rated team now in the EPL (Arsenal) and the TOP10 in the league Tottenham is about 200, a title of comparison.
When Maradona won his first national title in 1987 in Serie A it was about 150.
So, better to analyze it in league context, actually.

You could say, instead, he was a better El Clasico player in (2011-)2012, but again how much of it was due to Cristiano Ronaldo being a superior player compared to Real Madrid reaching his peak as a team and being much more adjusted in the process? Football is a team sport at the end of the day.

Watch again Cristiano Ronaldo and he was the best on the ball in 2006/2007 and perhaps in 2005/2006 too, that his fastest version on the ball and the more skilled with all the tricks and the fresh lags and that bust of pace, the 2014/2015 version was least one I found with still the tricks, but here he was more intelligent in his actions thus effective closer to the area.

Now, Cristiano's prime was definitely 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 tho, he still had 80-90% of the ability of his mid United carrer with 80-90% of the intelligence of 2014/2015 and after thus more efficiency. But already in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 you can notice the slowing down as he couldn't captalize on the wing plays as much as 2006-2012 and he was notable less mobile in the turn and while ball carrying as well, that funnily enough coincided with the time Blatter said he moved like a robot!
