We are getting younger as well (generally - obviously VVD and Salah re-signed)

    Robbo - 31 ---- > Kerkez 21

    Trat 12 ----- > Frimpy 24

    [ ] -----> Wirtz 22

He wasn’t used as much as Gravenberch. There were a decent amount of game where Jone started in place of Dom. Gravenberch started every single game and was rarely even subbed.

    Quick Depth Chart:

    GK: Goat, Mama
    RB: Frimpy, Bradley
    CB: VVD, [Konate], [Gomez], [Q]
    LB: Robbo, Kekez
MF: Wirtz, Macca, Dom, Grav, Jones, Endo
Attack: Salah, Gakpo, [Nunez], [Jota], [Diaz], [Chiesa]

    [ ] = possible sale

So - we should sign a new CB, and at least 1 attacker.

I think the difference is Dom was expected to cover a lot more ground than Grav in every game.

this is from last season (can't find 24/25 for some reason). shows Dom covered most ground for us - my guess is it holds true for 24/25 as well...

Helps when your DoF is kind of a young Sean Connery look-alike... We've got our own James Bond negotiating player transfers...

This could have been because Dom literally couldn't play again... there were a number of games where he looked like he had absolutely laid it all out on the field. While Gravenberch played more often, I don't remember often seeing him looking like the dead warmed over after the game. Back when I was still doing long-distance running, I remember at a certain point >10-12 mile runs your muscles felt like hamburger for a day or two afterwards...

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Igo Julio has revealed that he has “always dreamed” of playing for Premier League champions Liverpool.

Liverpool have been told it would take an offer of £75-80million to sign Anthony Gordon this summer amid renewed interest in his services.

Liverpool are expected to complete the transfer of Senegalese wonderkid Sidy Barhama Ndiaye for a fee of €1m.

Liverpool are being linked with AC Milan forward Rafael Leao following reported transfer meetings involving Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

Liverpool are ready to open their wallet back up for highly-rated PSG winger Bradley Barcola. It’s thought that the 22-year-old would cost north of £100m, which, if progressed, could see the Reds footing a £300m bill in total this transfer window.

Portuguese news outlet O Jogo have claimed that Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio is a player of interest to the Reds.

Arne Slot is reportedly going to add Giovanni van Bronckhorst to his Liverpool coaching staff, sources have confirmed to VI.

And football and long distance running are in no way correlated.
Footballers cover 4-6 miles a game.
60% of it is walking, light jogging, and light running into position.
40% of it is lung bursting, muscle ripping sprints.
    Movement in 360 degrees.
Absolute hell on the body. Lactate inducing stuff. All the while trying to control a ball and think clearly about tactics and such.

They really don't get enough rest.

Glad he didn’t knee-jerk when everyone was calling for new signings, just any signings.

Unless Diaz (unlikely) or Gakpo (highly unlikely) are leaving, no need for either speculative this

You missed one. The family agent might actually consider career prospects as opposed to just maximising fees.

I will say this about Trent - he does have a good head on his shoulders.
And his family are ALL IN for him.
He talked openly about all the sacrifices his brothers made for him when they were younger once it was obvious he was the most talented footballer.
    His mother doted on him.
His father quit his job and handles 'the business' of TAA.
They are a very tight knit clan and clearly all on the same page.
    Rare and to be admired.

I'm still kind of 'meh' on the whole situation. It's obvious he wanted to leave and learnt Spanish to that end. And I don't hold that against him in any way.
    He was great for us.
But he was in no way irreplaceable and I'm more excited about the team going forward without him than if he had stayed.

“Florian Wirtz will fit into existing Liverpool wage structure when he signs. He will be on €12m a year which can rise to €15m a year if individual and team performance targets are met. That’s £10.2m to £12.7m a year or between £195,000 and maximum £245,000 a week”

This is another factor that justifies the transfer fee. We are getting a superstar on a 5 year contract who doesn’t not blow up the wage structure of the club. That’s a very reasonable wage for a player of his caliber who was wanted by everyone. It’s an incredibly rare opportunity to sign a player of this caliber and not have to break the bank on wages.

You can see why this was viewed as a can’t miss opportunity similar to Van Dijk and Allison. A player that fills a need in the team, is already one of the best players in the world, has the potential to be even better, is someone who is known for his aggressive pressing and is not a luxury player, is only 22 years old, and is joining for the all the right reasons. This is good value for money because we might never come across such a perfect situation again.

Yeah, I’ve a feeling that if he fulfills his potential, he’s going to be seen as a steal in the same vein as Salah, Alisson and VVD.

A left back will definitely be leaving this summer. We all hoped it would be Tsmikas. But if Robbo doesn’t like the idea of being a backup, that could change.
