Romano, Ornstein, and Plettenberg all are saying it's close.

Yeah, apparently Ornstein reported LFC open talks with Wirtz and is "on course" for completion. Apparently some guy called Sacha Tavolieri reported that talks were ongoing and that Bayern board now believe it is unlikely that he will join them...

No idea how reliable this Sacha guy is, but Ornstein is usually pretty reliable. Christian Falk reporting that Wirtz has told Bayern that his intention is to join LFC if transfer can be agreed with Bayer Leverkusen. Further Florian Plettenburg is reporting that there will be "no transfer" between Wirtz and Bayern and that Wirtz has given a "verbal commitment" to LFC.

Both Falk and Plettenberg are generally pretty dialed in on transfer dealings in the Bundesliga...

Sounds like as long as LFC and Bayer Leverkusen can agree the specifics and that the medical goes through that this might actually happen...

    If so, wow!

Who would you rather have right now - TAA and his buddy Bellingham...or Frimpong and his buddy Wirz?

    ;)

This reminds me of something, but for the life of me, it’s escaping me at the moment, like a barely remembered dream.

Bellingham is over rated and TAA can’t defend to save his life.

Give me the German - Dutch duo anyday !!!

TAA who?? Frimpong on the right Kerkez on the left and Wirtz playing the 10 role would be a huge improvement in the squad next year compared to this season. You know, the season where we only won the PL :)

Frimpy and Trenty are about equal in my mind ---- but I'll take Wirtz or Sboz or Mac over bloody big-ed Bell-End anyday ..... and I was desperately wanting him 2 years ago.....

Now there are reports that Leverkusen are interested in some Liverpool players. They apparently need a goalkeeper. Would be a great place for Kelleher, and like I posted earlier, it’s ideal for Harvey.

A Champions League club with big ambitions that relies on young players.

Although maybe he’s a good manager? McTominay is the MVP of Seria A. Antony is tearing it up at Betis. Maybe it’s the club that’s the problem.

McTominay was actually decent at Manure.

Antony was trash - he's not cut out for the PL. Hag was Antony's manager at Ajax and should've been able to get the best out of him at manure.

so while it's generally the club that's is in disarray these days - the manager and the player can also be at fault.

Utd remind me of start-ups beginning their death spiral. They’ve shifted leadership, brought in new investment, but continue to bleed money, and walking into work feels like walking into a morgue. I know

Wingtips and I mentioned weeks back, it will take a BIG cult-like personality - think Steve Jobs - to finally move them forward. Fortunately, there are only a handful of those in football and 2 of the best will not be going there.

their last hope for salvation/redemption/whatever was Rangnick. they brought him in to get a reality check and encouraged him to be forthright and lay out what was needed. he held up his part of that bargain and told them the painful truth -- but of course they had no appetite for bad news or any interest in any hint of a slow rebuild.

BL are in the market for several positions apparently. so now reading that we're putting Kell, Harv, Gomez and Nunez on the table as options for BL to consider as part-fee.

though I think (who TF knows) we are quite prepared to go full cash deal if that's what it takes.
