Nunez has got to go. His valuation is sinking and his confidence is shot. He's simply not going to become elite at Liverpool. Not while we have Salah as our main goal threat and Gapko able to be more consistent in front of goal (while only getting half of the love).

It's been three seasons. Had we been challenging for top four I think Nunez could have blossomed for Liverpool. Become a consistent match winner who we depend on. Challenging for 1st place is something else, and any game we fail to win puts a huge amount of pressure on the team. He's never going to have the time to find his feet and Slot has reached that opinion much quicker than Klopp was about to.

I think you are right on Pikas - it's unfortunate - because I really appreciate Nunez' work rate and strength, but he seems to make "unusual" decisions, which lead to some badly missed opportunities...

He's become one of those players who "need a change of scenery" in order to progress...personally, I'd prefer to see him involved in a swap deal with a team in Europe, rather than have him come back to haunt us in the PL...

I wouldn't care if Nunez went to Arsenal. I'm absolutely certain his close ball control or his dribbling skills would not be any better there nor would his shooting accuracy magically get much better.
Darwin is a decent player with decent pace and and a knack for making good runs when he has space. But as above his close ball control is poor , we hardly ever see him take a defender on successfully 1 v 1 as say Diaz or Gakpo do. It's especially obvious when we face a low block.

    Decent player but nothing more.

Really sort of disappointed he didn't develop better. Very likable and exciting to watch - to a point.

He also never exhibited the pace we were expecting. He was fast but not electric. So many times defenders would beat him to a ball I was sure was his.

The underlying assumption is that there’s a butterfly there, looking to emerge from the chrysalis of a caterpillar. With the right nurturing, good coaching, a comfortable environment, there’s a world class striker. Nope. I disagree.

I did think that once, that he was half twist of the screw away from being a Drogba, a Costa or whisper it, a Ronaldo (Brazilian) or maybe even a Shearer. The truth of the matter, for me, Captain Chaos is better than Borini or Aspas, but nowhere near Kuyt or even Benteke. What he does have over Borini, Aspas or Benteke, but definitely not Kuyt is that the crowd love him. That’s bought him one extra season.

This notion that we should be quaking in our boots were he to go to Arsenal is nonsense. Firstly, Arsenal wouldn’t have him and secondly if he did go, I don’t see what the magic beans would be to transform him into even a Robbie Keane. He’d be every bit as shit, probably more so, at the Emirates as he is as Anfield especially because he wouldn’t have the crowd behind him. Plus Arsenal signing him now would smack of the same desperation as us when we signed Balotelli. He’s a Pound Shop/Dollar Tree Duncan Ferguson without the Barlinnie experience.

The diamond in the rough is what you see now. It ain’t getting better. Let him go to Real Madrid or Samarkand FC of Uzbekistan, we’re not going to be losing out on a player who’s ever going to see even the Ballon d’Or long list, except when he reads it out at the France Football ceremony after he retires.

If it's in English he may not be able to read about it, from all accounts. :D:D:D:D

Nunez only scored 5 goals this season. The manager chose not to start him a single game for the last 2 months because of a clause where we would have owed an extra 4 million to Benfica. It’s so over for him.

This is potentially the most exciting transfer in Liverpool's history.

Kicker reporting that Arne Slot’s conversation with Wirtz whilst in Liverpool was the deciding factor in his decision to pick Liverpool.

    We'll have to differ there.

I'd be quite willing to bet ....
say $1000 that if he joins athletico madrid and plays without injury (say more than any three week spell out) that he scores as many as Alvarez did this year (17 at present count.)

If you were..... willing to bet, that is ;)

Zaq, who cares what Nunez would do at Atletico? I'd be more concerned what Alvarez could do at Anfield and if he came I think he'd be a much better fit than Darwin was.

Guys Wirtz is coming by all accounts and you have no clue what a transfer coup this is .

Like Suss said he’s the guy to legit splash your cash on and not Bellingham or Caicedo.

Absolutely mental we could be getting a guy who could easily be our KDB and keep us on top for a decade

Oh we know what a coup it is. It's just we aren't going crazy because of our past history in this situation.

Wirtz and Frimpong - 111 Goal contributions in the last 2 Seasons.

    We’re getting them both.

The Two guys who were absolutely the epicentre of Xabi Ball.

I’m thinking we don’t sign a striker and play Wirtz False 9

This is definitely one of those where I'll believe it when I see the picture of him touching the TIA sign.

I’m probably not the only one who watched a ton of Leverkusen last season because I thought Alonso was our next manager. In the meantime, I fell in love with Wirtz, and can’t believe we are going to sign him.

Some of the reports have said that Wirtz friendship with Frimpong helped convince to leave Germany because he will have one of his best mates with him.
