The Crew should not play a home game until April . Maybe late March to keep a fair balance but MLS schedules are short sighted and our Ownership needs to see that things change in this aspect going forward
Yeah, that's a really great idea until you actually look at a map and see that seven of the twelve other teams in our conference are to the north of us.
10 of 26 teams have much better weather ( Vancouver because of a Dome) therefore the following teams should have at least 3 home games in March : Atlanta Miami Orlando Nashville LAG LAFC SJ Houston FC Dallas Vancouver then next year Austin & Charlotte make it 12 of 28 not sure if St Louis is playing in a dome but if they are then Sacramento would make 14 of 30
I’m tellin’ ya: Conference finals the weekend before the November international window, mL$ Cup the weekend after the window. This gives a 2 week buildup for the Cup and accommodates the window. This pushes the season 2 weeks later, allowing the first matches to start mid-March. Warmer home openers mean higher attendance leaguewide, thus more $.
Time to get ready for Black & Gold Week with events running today through #Crewsmas when #Crew96 takes the field this season! #Nordecke pic.twitter.com/3DSCfXNVrz— The Nordecke ⭐⭐⭐ (@Nordecke) February 23, 2020
So I'm thinking about ditching the kid for Crewmas and skipping out on B lot tailgating and joining Mega tailgate. But I might be flying solo (not sure yet who I might get to use other ticket). Don't really know many of you by face only screen names. But love to actually meet some of you. Feel like a kid going to a new middle school - strangely nervous and feeling a bit shy (which I'm furthest thing from) and awkward. Seeking advice.
Wish Mrs KG and I had time to catch up with folks, but we'll be heading down right after church and likely in a hurry...
You do make a good point. However, such a player/player(s) would have a conference semifinal on Sunday, national team camp afterward, a match on likely Friday and/or Tuesday (seems to be the trend, at least for USMNT), released back to the club, training for a few days, then the Cup. It is doable; as for rejecting the call-up, well, that’s on the player, not the league.
There are always some of us wandering aimlessly around, trying to fit in. I'll certainly be there, though I'm not sure how early I'll arrive. I won't be ditching my son, but as he's 22, it doesn't matter very much. If you're lucky, @Draghignazzo and his pet praying mantis will be on hand to give you a tour.
Just look for the aaa flag and you will find @Hamburgler03 , he will have something that will make you quickly lose your shyness and nervousness . Seriously though, you will make friends quickly at the Megatailgate, it's a very friendly, Crew loving crowd, plus free beer and food. I hope I get to meet you there.
it's been hotly debated amongst friends but think we are going without the RV for this Crewsmas. The warmth and restroom would have been nice.
100% stop over. I usually post an early morning pic of our tailgate spot but we are a friendly crew. Sometimes even sober.
I asked Dr. Pete about scheduling at the Supporter Summit. He did say they requested to not open until at least the third week this year. Essentially he said, "you see how that turned out." I think we will have a very light Spring next year as ownership and MLS will want to show off a shiny new stadium, at least for the first season.
That second part has been rumored...yeah, expect a small amount of home games until the new stadium opens.
