Likely no Buddle, but maybe Maissoneuve. Nelson Awkari, who made his first appearance with the Crew on Saturday, could start at right back if McCarty isn’t healthy. If McCarty is a go, he could join Daniel Torres, Brian Dunseth and Mike Clark on defense. Or, McCarty could fill Oughton’s defensive midfield spot. http://www.1460thefan.com/tf.php?story=dispatch/2003/06/11/20030611-04002.html
Is it just me, or hasn't the length of Buddle's hip flexor problems got a part of you worried about it becoming chronic?
We're talking a very sensitive part of the anatomy. It's going to take a while to fully heal. The Crew should not push him on this. It's not like playing through a sprained ankle.
during his recovery he sprained his ankle, that has what kept him out for the past 2 weeks...he was looking to come back but that kept him out every longer... "Buddle was a starter before injuring his hip flexor against New England on April 19. What was thought to be a strain proved to be a muscle tear. His rehabilitation was further hindered this week when he sprained an ankle while running. He is likely out another three weeks. " - reported in columbus dispatch on saturday, may 31st
I didn't realize that McCarty was questionable for Saturday too. Jimminy Christmas! We got nothing. Come on Mais, you can do it!
I see, its just frustrating not seeing Buddle play. We could really use him now. But no need to ruin him for the future. Thanks for the info.
