    I'm excited. Anyone else excited?

We are 11 pts back of KC, game in hand, with 12 games to play. Virtually uncatchable, but we can't afford to drop points at home if we want to make the playoffs.

Out: Paule, Oughton, Busch, Jordan, Herdsman.
Questionable: Hejduk (US Duty?), Buddle, Wolyniec, Szetela(?)

I say we stick with what is working, but I'm going to drop Testo for Szetela...

    ..............Walker
    ...Marshall..Wingert..Fraser
    Szetela..Elliott..Vasquez..Hendo
    .......Martino.........Glen
    .............Fort Knox

BTW, Walker has been playing pretty damn well for us since coming over. Bye-bye Jordan (if we can afford to keep Busch and Walker).

I can't believe I have a wedding to be at this day and this game is only on HDNet. If a game is on HDNet why the hell can't one of the Direct TV Direct Kick stations thats showing nothing pick up that feed. Ugh. I'll be hoping for phone call updates from friends on this one.

An analog channel can't "pick up" an HD feed. Totally different technology. And honestly, I know you know that. But I feel your frustration, brother.

I'm at a tournament in Strongsville on Saturday but should be back in time to provide some typically snotty obnoxious comments and crudely offensive scatological references during the match.

You know, the stuff that Dwight would say on his broadcast if he didn't care about losing his job and getting sued.

Maybe some of your freinds can pass a few of the choicer ones along. Lefty would do it for me but he's normally too busy swapping text messages with some 16 year old chippy.

You give me way to much credit on my knowledge of technology. I don't even know how to use a computer. I dictate my posts to a monkey and he types. That explains the typos.

But, hey, why was the Chivas/Galaxy video feed we got last week on the shootout package the HDNet feed then? Or was it not? It had HDNet graphics and everything....

Give Sutton a run out for Glen and see what Glen can do in the late sub role. Thats how he was most effective for the Metros last year.

I'd be amenable to that. I'd have to see a bit more of Sutton but there doesn't seem to be much to choose between the two. Although I must admit, I've never seen Glenn hit a shot like that one Sutton hit last night that nearly went out for a throw!

Also, there's got to be a strong argument for Storey to come in on the right if the other options don't produce.

I think he was aiming for McCullers. "Why didn't you make the change sooner!"

And here's an oldie but goodie:

    You have friends??

    :D

Preki's been playing a half? Can't wait to see the matchup between Elliot and him. Preki's older than dirt, and Elliot can't make a good play to save his life.

I'm going to watch some of the DC-KC match from last night and then make my prediction.

Elliot had some horrible plays last night. I saw a few good ones, but god some were bad, bad, bad. The first half for him was abysmal.

But overall, I can remember thinking: "Elliot sucks" more often than "Nice play, Elliot".

well already that negates what you were saying earlier about how he "can't make a good play"

    just saying.

    Oh no.. I overexaggerated..

    Go get a haircut.

    Just saying.

If Marshall can play some more standup play that he exhibited last night, I think we could pull out a tie or win. But KC's offense could literally rip us to shreds like earlier this season.

A few of KC's defenders look pretty damn slow, especially that CB they had versus DC last night. A player with wheels like Sutton could really tear them a new one, if let loose.

My beef with Elliott is tough to define. He assumes a central role in the offense but his passes tend to leave his teammates in tough spots. What good is it to try or even complete a 60 yard pass if it leaves your team's attack behind and a striker battling two defenders in the corner? I'm not always sure I;m right about him, but I just wish Elliott wouldn't constantly show for the ball because I tend not to like what he does with it.

Actually they can although it's not done "directly to the signal" and usually they don't bother because it doesn't translate well. The colors are always kinda funny and the picture looks a little blurred. Essentially you have two choices. You can either squish the feed to fit your typical 4:3 aspect ratio (anamorphic conversion) which makes everyone look really skinny or you can just use the HD signal and do a 4:3 center crop. Most commonly it's the latter option now. It has to do with transmitters having both NTSC and HDTV FPUs (field pickup units) or having both FPUs combined in a digital unit.

    Damn I am a nerd.

Edit: Also I have seen a few games on DK done this way as someone else mentioned.

I find it hard to square the fact that we completely dominated midfield play in the first half against the Metros with this statement. I don't think it's possible for one player to be abysmal while you make the other team look like a bad high school team possession wise.

The bad plays that I remember occurred in the final third of the pitch.

Wizards have a good counter attack, they'll probably drop back and look to trap and congest while drawing our players out and forward; then they'll press the quick counter. Who do we use to shut down Klein?

    Is Szetella still injured?

Yeah, it sucks, but when we get updates from zak, flyer fan, fid, or chelsey (hint hint) we will bust out in song at the wedding reception, shouting forth glory about our Columbus Crew.

Or we could hold them to next to nothing and they score a fluke goal on a free kick like last time we played em. I'll bet that, but we will score 3.

    Crew 3-1.
