I agree, I think he'll have a big impact on the game. I also don't really get the negativity he's received. Midseason acquisitions tend to struggle a bit because they are still in preseason form while the rest of the league is in midseason form. On top of that, he joined a team which plays a very unique style and has had to play catch up with the rest of his teammates. Even with that being the case, he has 5 goals and 6 assists in 15 appearances since he joined. In our 5 playoff games, he has 2 goals and 3 assists. He's a pretty big impact in nearly every playoff game so far. For some context, Lucas had 5 goals and 2 assists in his first 15 games with us. Obviously a very different situation, but that's who Rossi tends to be compared to because of the summer transfer window. Also, Lucas didn't score or assist in the 2020 playoffs until the final. None of that means he wasn't good, he was excellent, but Rossi has had a greater impact on the score line. One other piece of context, Cucho registered 9 goals and 2 assists in his first 15 games with us last season. That's the exact same number of G+A as Rossi.
As long as we attack the way we've been attacking, I don't think giving up the first goal would deflate the crowd for more than a minute or two. The way we attack in waves and immediately counter press after losing possession makes it pretty easy for the crowd to immediately get behind the team again.
Fantastic post. I try not to speak of the crowd at the 2015 Cup Final because I have gotten into verbal fights with a few posters over it. Be committed to lose your voice if you are lucky enough to be there on Saturday.
As the late great Andy Granatelli said to a reporter the day he had three cars leading the Indy 500 only for them to break down near the end, the last, a mile ahead of everyone with only a few laps remaining, breaking down because of a six dollar transmission bearing: "Luck? What's that?"
I'm making an executive decision of which I have no authority. Any BigSoccer poster who has Nordecke seats should join us at the top of the section directly below the Lower.com sign. I think it's 125. aaa Edit: section # Edit 2: I'm a moron and still couldn't get the section #
I'm planning on being inside the stadium no later than 3:00. I think that should be early enough to claim territory. I'm hoping to convince my old man to go down to the tailgate so we can judge the flow of people better.
Said best in a Boston accent: Toll Booth Willie: "Why you fukkin' hard on! I'll fukking Carlton Fisk yer fukkin' head with a Louisville fukkin' slugger! Whadya think of that ass fuk!?"
Part of me wishes they would require wristbands for the Nordecke because I know there will be a non-zero number of people that show the ushers a screenshot ticket that one of their buddies sent them.
Block O does this and it makes sense. There's a designated gate that all Block O tickets must go in. You go in there and are immediately outfitted with a wristband. No wristband, no entry. Tickets are blocked at any other entrance. (Any other student ticket can go in any other gate.) Make the NW entry "Nordecke Only" and it'd work. "If you have a Nordecke ticket, you must enter this gate. Your ticket will not work any other place. Don't believe us? Try it. What'd we say?" All you're doing is shifting "non-Nordecke" to other gates while shifting 100% Nordecke to the NW entrance. The only added delay would be the few seconds it takes to tear a wristband from the strip and put it on the wrist. Not even 45 seconds, amirite? There's a gate just south of the river club which would be perfect if it were opened as another general public entrance for people who tailgate without Nordecke tickets.
For anyone who bought a ticket through Vivid: I just got a call from them and the ticket I bought on Monday got canceled. BUT Vivid was somehow able to replace my ticket with another one (outside the Nordecke, sadly). So, amazingly, after all this bullshit, I somehow have two tickets. I have someone who I want to bring, but they haven't committed yet (my other friends I'm going with already have their tickets). It's possible I may still offer the ticket up here. It's not in the Nordecke and it cost me $325 (I've got the receipt). Even if I don't offer it here, this may be some good news for anyone else who bought tickets off Vivid or other second hand markets.
lol, Darn... I will admit, I was planning on trying to sneak into the Nordecke (it's where I've been for literally every home game this season and it's where my friends will be). I only get annoyed when whole groups of people sneak into the supporters' section. I figured since it was just me, it's no real bother. A simple wrist band may be enough to keep me out, lol.
If you are determined to get in, you could get wristbands of every color imaginable and then look at what color they are handing out and slap it on.
