Wasn't the original PSL term at Nationwide 10 years? Obviously, that's long in the past, but it'd be interesting to see how many OGs from 2000-01 are left. Between deaths, lack of interest/finances, moving away and other reasons, it can't be many.

Sidenote: The first-ever fan to select a seat was a firefighter, I believe named Mike, who had Chill season tickets. He was featured in an article where he wanted glass seats on the corner. He said he liked them for the visibility. He had planned to take signs like "Let's harass the goalie. His name is ____." If he's still around, I raise my glass.

It's probably more than I'd guess, however.

You're probably right that a lot of the corporate seats are still in original possession because the companies can use them for employees and clients while writing off the cost.

You’re not jaded. The Dropbox files clearly state that both projects exist to create more premium seating, and note the upper midfield seats would convert to premium seating.

Any OG still buying CBJ season packages has my respect.

I enjoy going to a game or two each season.

But there has been a lot of losing by the home team in Nationwide Arena since it opened.

Aiming to start immediately after the end of the 2025 season and scheduling the first few matches as away games. Construction being construction, this will not finish on schedule, so everyone can start your complaining now . There’s no way around this, unfortunately.

But isn't there a chance the league has that "mini-season" in the spring of 2026 because of the WC?

That’s the strategy at this point, but it may change. There’s never going to be a convenient time and it will overrun the schedule. Frankly, they should have gone bigger in the first place and are paying for it now. Hope I’m wrong, but I’m envisioning issues no matter what year this is scheduled.

Is there any news about how those of us who currently have season tickets in the east upper sideline area will be treated going into 2026? I can speculate we'll be given a couple of unpalatable choices. Just from casual conversations with my neighbors, I'd observe most of the seats in the first five rows of 238 go to account owners who have been buying season tickets since at least 1999. I would hope the team (meaning the Haslams) would understand the downside of sticking it to a group like that.

Those are taking some of the Nordecke seating out, correct?

It looks like the whole upper quadrant is being removed

I think they are just extending the top of the nordecke terraces all the way around. So the lower dot com logo is getting axed. Maybe a few rows get cut, but don't think it's too many

    Here's the comparison there's room 7-3-21_Columbus-Crew-vs-New-England_153-3-1.jpg

Yeah, it's very hard to tell from the renderings, but the new terrace in the NW corner appears to extend above existing seats. You'd think loss of any existing seating would have been mentioned in the press release and stories about this. The fact that it hasn't makes me think they've found a way to build above the existing rows.

Based on a few conversations and a team or sickos examining the plans - the Terraces are wrapping around the corner with the Lower terrace going behind the Nordecke and the Upper Terrace going above the Nordecke.

At least that's the plan right now.

I know you have been up on the terraces above the Nordecke, my daughter and I went up there during the first game of the She Believes Cup just to see what it was like.

I thought it was absolutely horrible with no view of the field if you took a few steps back from the rail. Was that your impression as well? I can't see those going as high-dollar seating options without a real redesign of the sight lines.

The rail seats on the upper terrace are my favorite place in the stadium to watch the game.

Everything else up there is just party space. And in this era, people aren't paying for sightlines, they're paying for party space. Those terraces boxes will be a hot commodity.

From what I understand (and an esteemed poster has mentioned) construction will begin after the 2025 season.

Exactly. The "big money" crowd isn't necessarily paying to see Cucho score a hat trick against Chicago when they can "see and be seen" at a popular event/place in the city.

And it's not just Crew games either, for those keeping track. OSU football and basketball suffer their own versions of the same effect.

That's assuming you can get up there. I haven't keep track lately, but it seems like for the vast majority of games, it's been closed unless you're a member of the group renting the spaces.

He is right though. It is a fantastic area to watch games from. Those directors chairs they have up there are excellent.

I don't think so. It's just the upper terrace, and then new corner seats. They may need to lose some space for supports, but they are not removing the upper section.

OSU Basketball is suffering from a lot of things recently.
