True. It's a shitty place. I can't use the term "logic" because it means that someone was actually thinking when they put it there. But...the DORA extends along the west side of the stadium and even a little along the north side. When they did those marches in 2020 (and had the sections directly behind the goal closed off "for the march"), didn't the marches end at the northwest entrance? It's obvious to me that someone(s) had hoped on that NW entrance being used more often. They knew the main plaza was going to be a hot mess and I'm wondering if the planners were hoping for people who sit in that NW corner just to use that entrance instead of shuffling around behind the Tipico and River clubs.
I suspect it will be used more once the development on that side is finished and the parking is done. And it may well be a VIP lot then too.
When I moved my seats from Section 113 to Nordecke, I started using the NW gate. I usually stop in Betty's, grab 2 PBRs and drink them on the walk. That has cut down my instadium beer spend by about $20/game. So that coupled with my cheaper tickets, I'm saving hundreds if not over $1,000 per season. Enough for me to justify renewing my tickets. That said, the way this preseason has gone, I'm NOT really excited about the season starting. I'm considering putting first several games up for sale. Maybe if I see some games, my interest will return. Maybe if they kill that awful logo, I will spend some of my savings on some new gear. Maybe if they announce JW is no longer involved in the teams decision making process, I'll by a beer in stadium to celebrate. Maybe if they unveil a sweet new jersey...with new logo, I'll stop complaining. Until then I'm watching NHL (I'm not a CBJ fan).
Who the hell is Garage Beer and who in the Crew front office thought it was a good idea to let them cut their teeth in the stadium? Who knows they may be decent, but there are too many other local breweries fans like and support and those breweries support the fans/team. This Front office JUST DOESN'T GET HOW TO DRIVE FANS ENGAGEMENT.
Are they from Kentucky or is that another Garage Beer? And why not one of the multitudes from Columbus? Elevator, Seventh Son, etc?
Does anyone have a link or source for relatively recent drone footage of Astor Park? I saw a still shot on Reddit. It was the yellow smoke stack and a lovely view of the Olentangy. I’m looking more for a view of the new parking garage, progress on the new office building and anything else worth seeing. If the team won’t get me me excited, maybe the stadium can do it.
It is apparently a brand from Cincinnati Brewer Braxton Brewing. Why they went with a not well known brand name is weird. Maybe they have a new investor pushing a more nationwide brand? I saw Founders is doing something like that. I'm not a fan of most Columbus breweries. I think the best one in the state is Market Garden. That yellow springs one is good
And I just got them to admit they are brewed by Braxton which is on Covington KY. So they lied! Fits the mold of Crew FO saying they are going to have local craft brews only to not have local craft brews.
As often as I see Rhinegeist trucks up here doesn't mean they're "local to Columbus." Does Braxton Brewing have a production facility in the area?
Okay based on a marketing agent's advice, the company is splitting this beer off into its own brand as a domestic light beer. They also modified the recipe probably so distributors/brewers nationwide could make it cheaply and more easily. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/en...ing-launches-garage-beer-company/69869683007/ See what the lack of roster moves cause this fan base to talk about instead of the preseason.
Yea Braxton is in Covington Ky. They have a nice brewpub, I went there a couple years back. The whole place was decked out in FC Cincy gear. They arent much different from some of the other breweries. They make a decent octoberfest, but the rest are beers with catchy names and mediocre flavor. If the garage brand is their "pilsner" its not good nor is it a pilsner.
