Haha, fair. I just thought it was a nice way to get the entire stadium into the game. Place was buzzing for a while after the song. At LDC the entire gameday atmosphere is driven by the Nordecke and there is very little (if any) engagement of the rest of the stadium. I guess last game they tried to get a C-R-E-W chant going, so maybe they are trying.
That's what happens when the main supporters group is almost wholly separate from the rest of the fan base aside from a few Twitter or Facebook posts. You see the Nordecke doing everything so you figure why bother? They're already doing it.
Common issue. I know in one of my team's songs it says "if the atmosphere takes hold, then the expensive seats will join in"
Yes they did and it was truly stunning that they couldn't pull it off. Most folks in my section were into it and participated. But it kept dying at E. They tried three or four times and every time whoever was in charge of E just couldn't get it together. Nothing. Finally they gave up. Very strange. It's not rocket surgery.
Jackhammer vs Danza Kuduro (Inter Miami song). Wonder which gets the average fan more hyped, an annoying loud construction sound or a upbeat dance song? #crewl (skip to 45 seconds)
Nordecke is more worried about where their wings of an eagle fly than getting whole stadium involved.
IIRC, wasn’t the “E” the west side? Where there’s more schmoozing than spectating? And where a lot of the “fans” are behind glass?
There do seem to be times when the game, if not just a rumor, is something of a distraction from all the InstaFace pictures getting taken over there.
It's the impression I get. /lyrics Sure, you see an outreach from them about helping paint tifo, but aside from a FB or Twitter post occasionally, what kind of other outreach does the Nordecke have? I think the issue is the fan base sees the supporters section as the people that do that kind of stuff and only them. Maybe that's just me because I go to watch the game, not spend it chanting and singing, as much as it makes the atmosphere better.
Oh come on. The average fan of any team anywhere does not do all that stuff. They buy tickets and cheer. It's true everywhere in every sport and from junior high through college. I dont get why that's either a shock.or a big deal.
Wouldn't be the first time that the BS echo chamber is relayed directly or indirectly to the FO. I know of at least one current and one former staffer who ghost on here pretty regularly. Really good dudes,
I caught that too. Almost dropped my scotch. Almost. I think I related the story from last game when I spoke with a couple FO types who knew exactly who I meant when I referred to The Megabus. But seriously, if you really want some truth unvarnished from knowledgeable fans, where else are you gonna go? Still, we won't have a true breakthrough until Gyassi scores and we hear Choo Choo Train.
I would like to correct my statement. The “silent E” (see what I did there?) was in fact the south end. Not sure why.
I looooooove LDC Field but the experience moving around the concourse and waiting in line was about 1,000,000 times better tonight.
Moving around the place it seems like there are some choke points that are always hard to navigate. I think the worst one is on the east side; there's usually a big crowd around Dirty Frank's which you have to go wide of, then work your way back around the corner created by the entrance to the lower.com club, then make a wide left turn around the people coming the other way along the passageway past the Rail club. then another left and a right to get back. It just creates congestion which they should have anticipated.
