Sunday, December 6, 2015. 4:00pm Mapfre Stadium - Columbus, Ohio. HOME. Not sure there are any injuries. No cards suspensions. Jersey toting Marrufo will call the game. Get your bribes in now. -------------------------------- Look. We have had 2569 days since our last glorious moment November 23, 2008. We have been waiting for another lightning strike and found it thanks to Anthony Precourt. Like a benevolent god he has smote his predecessor and we now have a team in the image of that power point genius Gregg Berhalter. Lets follow the bandwagon all the way home to heaven.
Two stars and haters continue to hate. Seriously, the smack on Facebook coming from Seattle and Orlando is hysterical. How'd their playoff runs go anyway?
Because I'm looking for every possible advantage... I pointed out in another thread that Portland has had to do a lot more traveling in this final phase of the playoffs than have the Crew. They had to fly to Dallas for that second leg, while we stayed in our own time zone, with just a short flight to NY. I read they didn't get back to Portland from Dallas until noon yesterday, that's 3pm our time; we were back here at 2am and, while a late night, were able to spend it at home in bed. Now Portland need to cross three time zones to Columbus for the final. I don't know that I'd suggest fatigue, so much, as lost preparation time. The Crew should have at least a full day's more time to prep for this game than will the Timbers.
That must be because we're wearing the away yellow kit! But seriously, Sunday can't come soon enough. Hoping there are some festivities Friday/Saturday as well. Gonna be a fun time to be a soccer fan in Columbus.
Life is pain. I've been down with a brutal bronchitis & fever for over a week. I'm backed up on too much work and my body is too far gone to make it on Sunday. Woe. I'll enjoy the hell out of watching it on TV with my son, though.
#bitterness I'll drink to their tears, and I'll drink to our joy of hosting! 3-1 to the Crew The USMNT's Dos-a-Cero is the Crew's Tres-a-Uno in the MLS Cup!
Serious question: how many people actually had trouble getting through security last time around, and for those who did, how long did it take you to get in? Did anyone actually miss part of the match? I had no trouble, but I went in like an hour and 15 minutes before the match, too.
The lines took a while, but it was totally security theater. I took off my large winter jacket and slid it through the table next to the metal detector, expecting security to inspect it. Nope. He told me I could put it back on. I could have had a LOT of things in those pockets. I'm sure some people missed kickoff and the goal, because the lines were long.
It was a bunch of people in line, but it was not bad at all, IMO. I was probably in line for about 15 minutes. They only randomly selected folks to step through the detector - I was one of those winners and that only added a minute or two.
That's not nothing. You lose almost an entire (business) day going from West Coast to Columbus. Plus, there are no direct flights but I would guess they are chartering a jet.
We lined up about 10 min before gates opened. Probably will do that on Sunday too. I do not mind hanging out and hitting the Schmidt's truck.... Tho I might try Hot Chicken Takeover this week. But I'd probably better stick with Schmidt's--it's worked so far in the playoffs as my pre-game meal.
Didn't see the pre match, so I am posting here as well Does anyone know if they are going to have some set up in the parking lot like an "MLS Experience" thing with vendors and games, music..etc? Somewhat like the set up for the USMNT games?
