For those who did NOT know - no score in the 49th minute. Clark has to leave due to hammie injury, Torres has come in and has shown WHY he was on the bench in the first place
As of the 65th minute, I take back EVERY bad thing I have EVER said about Chad McCarty. Clutch save to stop a sure Ralston goal.
And Hernandez tackles McBride from behind rather badly, NO card. McBride 2 minutes later BUMPS Hernandez, gets a yellow card. Whatever. Brian Hall is a piece of crap.
That was the worst display of finishing I have ever seen at any level. My assessment: pure crap. We played so tentative in the opposing 18, we couldn't have scored with 1,000 dollars, a box of condoms, and Heide Fliese on prom night. The Revolution were gifting us that game on a silver platter and we returned it to the kitchen. And don't get me going on the no penalty call. Cunningham was clearly taken down IN the box.
Maissennouve should have been pulled in favor of Martino or Perez in the 25', preferably Martino as he is quick through the middle providing Cunningham and Freddy with support. Maissennouve lacks creativity. We couldn't play through the middle to save our lives and long balls lack continuity of possession our club needs. Long ball counter attacking is a dangerous weapon, but it shouldn't be your sole strategy.
End overtime, no score. Both teams pick up a point. Crew waste an opportunity to steal one on the road against a Revs team MINUS Llamosa. No matter what, Crew have to go back to New England NEXT weekend, against a potentially full strength Revolution defense.
Even with Llamosa, their defense is too slow for our attack. They didn't shut us down. We failed to capitolize.
Dude, I'm in the Indian Ocean listening to the game, without any problems. There's no problem with the webcast, the problem is with your system.
Oh...and nice crowd. 11,000. NE, you suck. I need to go work on something. I can't believe how pissed I am about that game. What's said is that NE is happy to get out of there with a point. This game is going to bite us in the ass on the way back to the big razor.
Llamosa is still an experienced defender who will make it a bit tougher. The Revs DO, not have an answer for Cunningham. Be careful there, LF. Wait until after Game 2 to run AttendanceSmack™
who needs an answer for cunningham when he can't get a dangerous shot off? we choked big time in the box today. everyone blew four or five chances. we even had two or three 1 v 1's. it was exciting but, like in years past, unsatisfying.
I couldn't connect at all even though I've had no problems before listening to the Crew. Others had the same problem. You were lucky, I guess.
Why should I? Tell me how the Crew should NOT be concerned about his return to play in this series, starting Wednesday, Eggy.
Watched this one on TV. Got a mean headache now... If anything, McBride will probably be the goat of this outing, missing more than a couple of opportunities. I was surprised Greg didn't roll the dice and go on the attack in overtime, placing Martino or Perez in for added offensive spark. The revs were one hack down and were content to play "pack the back and counter" but we kept the same compliment of players on the field. Great defense by McCarty and Dunseth. Busch owes them each a case of beer. Good efforts by Oughton, Denton, Cunningham. Garcia was all over the place out there and is picking a fine time to cement a spot in the starting eleven. The last two games aren't going to be pretty. BTW. And I'm sure NE fans will probably agree, Hall is a cancer. No consistency whatsoever and let the match get dangerous early. Bad calls on two NE and one Crew foul. Knowing our luck, we'll pull out a win at home and a tie back there, go to MLS cup, and Hall with be the official.
We were horrible up front this afternoon. Both Jeff and McBride played like crap today. yes, they were hustling but Jeff had no first touch whatsoever today. McBride must have been looking into the sun to have missed the two Garcia services. Jeff shot when he had West open 5 yards from goal - what's wrong with a 5th assist? - and what's with the bullet that caught McBride in the face 2 feet from the ground? Buddle needed to put that chance on goal. Adin came up huge to close down McBride and Garcia on the two quasi-breakaways. MOTM to Dunseth and McCarty for saving our bacon on the two best chances the Revs had all night.
this was the most frustrating game ive seen since usa/germany last summer. i just popped 3 advil. i have no idea how im supposed to sleep after watching that crap. ive never been one to bash mcbride.....but for fvck sake....he alone should have had 3 goals. as for the header turned knee ball on the back post...did he just give up? you should never assume that the defender is going to get the ball.... cunny. two bad first touches that otherwise would have most definitely been a goal, if not atleast something on the goal. and yes, it was IN the box. dunc played well for all of 5 minutes. martino should have been brought in with plenty of time to make an effect in the game. i cant leave without saying something about the ne commentators....horrible. wrong on everything. mixing up names left and right. im so frustrated right now.
one good note: i have nothing bad to say about mccarty- who ive never been able to get on board with. great game all around. and dunseth...man oh man. great work. (see wittler, even white trash is good, right?)
