I wonder if we'll recall our loanees to play in this one. I think Martinez, Abubakar, Hollingsworth, Obinwa, or Maloney were held our of the Open Cup matches so they shouldn't be cup-tied. I wouldn't mind seeing Martinez or Maloney get a chance to start so long as we have some first-team players sprinkled in there. I'd say Abubakar should also play if Crognale isn't in the starting XI but I'm be surprised if Crow didn't start. Here's a lineup I could live with: Stuver Maloney - Crognale - Williams - Francis Abu - Jimenez Hansen - Martinez - Manneh Jahn Bench - Ketterer, Raitala, Abubakar, Obinwa, Finlay, Hollingsworth, Meram Of course, I bet we'll get something like this: Stuver Maloney - Abubakar - Crognale - Jimenez Abu - Obinwa Hollingsworth - Martinez - Hansen Jahn Bench - Ketterer, Francis, Williams, Manneh, Finlay Either team should be able to handle Cincy but I think they'll be really up for this one. Dangerous, dangerous.
@YeahMorgan, are any of your hack artist pals selling shirts for this match? I really don't want to wear anything oranje when I'm cheering for the 2 Live Crew SC in the 'Nati. #UpTheMerch
Yeah we really cant sleep on Cincy. Theyre middle of the USL table right now but theyve been collecting some of the best USL players and are quite strong. Danni Konig and Djiby Fall are both dominating their league and have lots of European experience. None of em compare to us, but we better be prepared.
I forgot that they tarp over sections 102/103, though you would think they'd just take the damn tarp off so we can all be next to each other. With tarps skills like that, they'll be in MLS in no time.
It is, but we bought so many tickets so quickly that they had to open up an additional section to deal with us.
Good call, I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen anything from a Crew perspective in t-shirt form. I really don't get involved with merch, other than #TIFOSWEAT scarves which have rightfully been reported to the ADL this year. If you come across something, let me know who to throw my monies at.
So we get 101 and 104 with 2 sections of FCC logo in between. Sounds like a great place for a gigantic Crew tifo that can stay unraveled all game!
AMEN TO THAT. I have the standard security/logistics call with their FO on Monday, so we'll know then what we're allowed to do. Fingers crossed.
I don't know if all these seats have been sold exclusively to Crew fans but wow... that's nearly 1,200 seats.
I see bus information...but no link? Hell fo shivzel..be real...I pray against the darkness quite often.
Oh, I guess I could have linked to the actual Rally Bus page instead of the reddit post. Here's the link: http://rallybus.net/HellIsReal-Trip/ It looks like they need at least 14 more confirmations to get the bus.
Thinking of designing something similar in black/gold to custom print before the game. The Hell is Real Derby idea is great, no way in hell I'm wearing their colors.
Sooooo there will be more Crew fans at an away Open Cup game than would be at a home Open Cup game? Ya that makes sense.
Casual FCC fan here who lives outside the region. They should bring out a very strong side. Despite returning the core of last season's team that finished 3rd in the Eastern Conference, losing John Harkes has led to a few setbacks early on this season. They've replaced the leading scorer in the USL last season (Okoli, now backs up David Villa at NYC) with two strong central strikers who have European experience and a good eye for goal. The rest of the team is not too impressive, as most of the players are MLS/NASL/USL journeymen and not young, hungry studs with a bright future. FCC plays very well at home. I'd expect a 1-0, 2-1 type of game if the Crew play a true B side. Looks like you all will be bringing and a large contingent. Hoping it's a good time for all.
Road trips--especially to a relatively local team that you might not otherwise get to see--can be fun.
Going in to purchase 2 tickets right now and only three left, anyone in the know happen to know if they're going to open up another section for us? Sounds like they typically rope off sections between 101 and 104?
And now there's one left. I'm confirmed going. Tailgates planned yet? If not I'll probably find a pre-game brewery to hang out in before the game.
Just checked the ticket site. It looks like 101 is sold out. It was showing 104 as sold out earlier today. Now it looks like they've opened up 102 for tickets. This can't just be Crew fans, no? Also, the Hell Bus is up to 32 reservations. Neat.
