David Testo, F/M The original release had Testo a member of the Crew with a little blurb about him signing with the team two days ago as a Discovery Pick. But since then, the release has been modified and changed to remove that part. I figure we can discuss the games here as well.
Lets hope they brought the two things that every traveler to Mexico needs, rubbers and bottled water.
I don't want to be a greedy "club first" European, but all those players being away in August makes me a little uneasy. However, one can assume that if Gooch, Yi, and Casey are made available for the Olympics by their squads then Marshall and Testo(if Crew) may not make the final Olympic squad. Plus maybe factor in senior exemptions and it may not look so bad come August.
So that is a possible 5 players we could be missing during the Olympics? I don't know the schedules, but would the full international team have any friendlies or qualifiers at that time as well?
Onyewu, Yi, and Simek would be good bets to make the team in August. You have to believe that at least one, and maybe two, will bump Wingert and maybe even Marshall. Additionally, there are some other MLS guys to be heard from in the midfield and up front, and that's not even including Preciousssss, who may very well be there as well. Add to that the fact that Myernick is taking twenty-two players to Mexico but can only take twenty to Athens and there's some cutting and pruning to be done here. Count on Buddle and Martino being gone. Maybe one more. But all five is a highly doubtful proposition.
Actually, I think the first game in the semi-final phase falls during the Olympic games, not the Greneda match IIRC..
