I think we've been doing well so far in the league, and I would really hate for this game, which I think is just about meaningless, to drain our players before their game against New England next weekend. If we hadn't been lit up light the local pinball machine in Mexico, it would be a different story. However, I think it would be prudent of the Crew to use this match to give some of our developmental and non-starters a chance to get some PT and experience.

We need to keep our main starters as fresh as possible, but I'm worried about what Andrulis might be thinking. The thing I hate is that there was no lineups from the first game posted, so I don't really know who's been playing too much.

Is it possible to get our guys from their A-league teams to play in this match? Even getting a few of them would really help out.

Just thought I would bring this over from the other thread to give some perspective as a possible "reserve" line-up for Greg to use. I certainly think Akwari, Treager, Walsh, and Mack could take some serious minutes in this game.

the crew has to win the game. Yes the crew is out of the competition and no way they can score so many goals to go to the second round. The crew has to at least win the game (doesn't matter the score) just for the honor. Whether it be a 1-0 win what ever..

Honor, Smonor. The only thing that matters now is the domestic treble. Start the reserves and rest the starters. I could really care less what Mexicans think of our league or team.

and by the way lond, we are already playing in the 2nd round. 16 teams, now down to 8, etc.

A win would be nice, and I'm sure whoever is out there is going to be upset about the previous thrashing, so what does it matter who starts? Keep the stars rested for the league...

Oh, and if things were about Honor, then why are there so many hack and tumble teams in central and south america? Every time I watch a US vs. _____ (Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, etc) its like they think they're trying out for some Hollywood film part.

Also, if things were about honor, then people wouldn't rebuild a team in the nations capital filled with a bunch of hacks, drunks, cheats, and whiners (Demo, Etch, Hristo, etc).

How about starting the regular starters and them moving to the "needs time" players in the 2nd half.

Presuming we aren't up by 5 of course.

Starters get some good time and the rest do also. I'm going and would be interested to see Akawari, Walsh, Perea, Trager, etc.

    Prestus needs a match, also.

Monarcas Hará el viaje a la ciudad de Columbus Ohio con un equipo jóven, ya que logró aventajar la serie con 6 goles, detalle que le da confianza a su técnico para descanzar a sus titulares y tenerlos listos para el toreno local.

    2-0

And don't tell me Mexican teams aren't dirty. In the World Cup game, there could've legitimately been 2 or 3 red cards given to them, as dirty as they were.

I'm glad we're out of the tournament. Bygod, if for the only reason the Crew might have played another Mexican team and I would have to read every woe is me, put upon "Mexican-American" post dispite the fact the Mexican team layed an ass-womp on the Crew. I'm really sick off it. Let us have our discussion about our team and leave us alone.

Seriously... just like myshap said, enough is enough. If you were looking for the rivalries forum, this ain't it. Take it over there.

I'm sorry, but this thread was supposed to be about the game... remember, that thing that is played with a ball for 90 minutes? Yeah, there ya go. See there IS a difference between what WE are trying to talk about, and YOUR personal life/problems.

    *Back to Topic*

According to the weather channel, if you're going to the game, bring a raincoat. Looks like it will be in the 60's - 70's but with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Also, who all from the Crew is currently still dinged up? Is Duncan still not 100%, or why has he been subbing in so late? What's the update on Torres & West?

If the Crew has any shame it will get its best to win the game. Morelia is sending its 3rd String.

Trust me the Crew has shame. It's called a 6-0 defeat. That was shameful. Now all the second leg is, is a glorified exhibition against a Mexican League reserve team. Why would we want to send our best out against a 3rd string team looking to impress the coach and in so doing endangering our starters? Seeing what a Mexican NAT team player did to Cobi Jones in the WC, I don't want our 1st string anywhere close to Morelia's 3rd string. All it would take is an overzealous young Morelia player to go right through Edson Buddle's ankles and we're out a hell of a talent for MLS for no reason other then pride.

Hopefully this can mend a few broken Crew hearts out there about the first leg lose. In EPL play Saturday, 3rd place Newcastle United lost to 2nd place Manchester United 6-2. So it happens to the best of us at some time I guess.
