I covered Kirk extensively during his college career. What a great kid. Great persona, great teammate. Rest in peace.

A friend shared with me something passed down through her family: Grandfather dies, Father dies, son dies. Any other order is a tragedy. Urso's enthusiasm to do good as a rookie and beyond makes this more hard to in.
ABC 6 is reporting that he was unconscious at Park Street Patio when EMS arrived around 12:50, and people had tried performing CPR; Urso was pronounced dead at 1:51 http://www.dispatch.com/content/blogs/covering-the-crew/2012/08/urso.html The CPR info is from Adam Jardy's twitter.
I was impressed with how quickly he cracked the Columbus lineup before the injury. Seemed like the kind of kid that could carve out a pretty solid MLS career for himself. It's unimaginable to pass away at that age. RIP
