I posted some info on the upcoming party, and I wanted to make sure that the BigSoccer Crew fans were aware of the potluck, and are invited to attend. (yes, even Eggy can come ) So that I don't have to post all over again, here is the link to the Crew-dot-com thread. http://forums.matchnight.com/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=2550
I'll be making homemade cheesecake, among other things. For Eggy I thought I would make Koolaid, pizza, and chocolate chip cookies, while folding the clean laundry that I washed by-hand. I just wanted to bump this up. If you're interested in attending the party, e-mail me whamhandler@columbus.rr.com and I'll add you to the party info list. Every Crew fan is invited. BTW- I'm glad I finally got to meet you, Eggy. You're not such a bad chap after all
Well, that's a big help Not you, Zak, Crew-dot-com. OK, basically the info is that the party date had to be moved to the weekend of Nov 23-24 because of the match at RFK the previous weekend. We want the 4 Crew players that are called into camp for the match to attend the party, so we moved the date. I'm asking that people let me know if they prefer that Saturday or Sunday, afternoon or evening. Post your preference here (I'll keep an eye on this thread) or e-mail me your opinion. We'll set a date ASAP, and then coodinate what to bring where through the e-mail. Thanks guys! --LUD
AHHHHHHHH I forgot about OSU I would hope that Crew fans would have their priorities straight but I guess that sorta leaves me with no choice, but Sunday. Does that work for you guys? I'll confirm with Co-hostess, Angela, and get back to you ASAP.
No. When we planned this last time, we thought about holding it on Crew property, but some folks (including Mario, the honored guest) expressed that they didn't want this to be an "official Crew event", so we should hold it off-property and maintain control and the informal feel of the celebration. I looked into getting a park permit for a gazebo/shelter but I had to sign something saying no one would drink (like I could control that) and I & my insurance would be liable for any damage. There was also a fee. So we held the party at my home in Dublin. We have enough sq feet to accomodate, so it worked out well. I know that Dublin is not a central location, but everyone found us easily, and I heard/read no complaints afterwards. So potluck #2 will again be at the UpperDeck house. All we ask is no underage drinking, and no heckling any player or fan. Just eat, drink, play, and chat.
Where's my Advil?! It seems that the potluck thread on Crew-dot-com died when the system had trouble today. Here is the new link to the new thread. Not much different from this one, though. http://forums.matchnight.com/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=2622
YES! Someone brought a bunch of homemade beer to the party last time. It was a big hit. UD is a Newcastle and Guiness drinker, himself. This IS a party, afterall
The date is officially set for Nov 24th. Now I'm waiting for word on the time of day. Either a brunch or dinner potluck. Guinness, Newcastle, there's room for both.
Do not forget the Killians Too bad I'm injured and won't be able to stop UDjr's PK attempts in the backyard.
I'd be willing to wager a CASE of that fake Irish crap Killians that, on the healthiest day of your life, you couldn't stop one out of ten of Lefty's PK's.
