Comrades! Crew Brew IV will be making its debut at Saturday's opener, as most of you know. In a philanthropic endeavor, I will be accepting donations for each bottle of , hopefully, two dollars. Detroit Mike, the head coach of Detroit Western International High School, is arranging a road trip for his players to come to Columbus for their first viewing of a professional match. Unfortunately, these kids have very little money and are having a hard time scrimping up cash for the trip. All money that I receive for the Crew Brew will be given to Mike to help subsidize their trip. Mike estimates $30 per kid is needed for tix and the bus rental. Any financial help received would be greatly appreciated.
Superb!!! This actually makes me feel better about the whole thing, Brook you are simply too nice. Thanks. Cheers!!!
Brook your such a top guy.. You can pull me over and beat me senseless over an overdue parking ticket any day.....
Thank you everyone and especially to the legendary Brook, who is the greatest soccer fan in America and perhaps one of the nicest guys on the planet. For those that don't know me, I am Mike, the guy from Detroit, who has been attending Crew home and road games as well as Nats games around the country for the past four years. My big soccer handle is MLS Detroit. To expand, I coach high school and club soccer in southwest Detroit, Michigan and one of my dreams was to take the kids down to a Crew game. If any of you know Detroit, the southwest section is a very poor area of the city. Inner-city kids need activities to keep them focused and out of trouble and we feel that we slowly but surely achieving this. Rarely do the kids get to leave their neighborhood. The Metrostars game on the 26th will be the experience of a lifetime for most of them. A chartered bus and game tickets will run about $30 per kid; a steep price for many of them. Since Brook began this campaign, I have already received several positive responses. On behalf of the kids and coaching staff, Thank you so very much! If others still wish to give a donation, I will be at the game between 1:30-2pm Saturday for the home opener. I drive a white Toyota with Michigan plates, several international decals and a Crew bumper sticker. Donations can also be send to my home: Michael A. Polonski 200 Riverfront Dr. #9D Detroit, MI 48226 313-729-3503 polonskijr@hotmail.com Checks should be made payable to me, for our team does not yet have an account. Once again, thanks to Brook and everyone else for you generosity. God Bless and go Crew! Mike
How old are these kids? We could probably do alot more than just give donate money if we put our minds to it.
