Due to underwhelming demand, I've given in and will produce 72 22 ounce bottles of the infamous Crew Brew for the Saturday 15 May match. As always, these will be available (with a valid State driver's license or identification card) at the V-Army tailgate for a minimum donation (or for the promise that I can bum beers off of you for the remainder of the season). Appreciate this, Comrades, I had to rearrange my work schedule to be able to attend the tailgate. More to follow as bottling gets nearer. Thanks for the inquiries, everyone. Oh, Hang, what number will this be? I've lost track... 6 or 7?
Since this is usually a classy affair, I thought we were supposed to use Roman numerals. Seeing that, is this VI, VII, or God only knows?
Brook, you are the man. This will be Crew Brew 6. It's odd, I was just rearanging all the bottles on my mantle just a few days back and thinking "It would be nice if Brook had a Brew ready for the next game I am at on the 15th." And sure enough he comes through. Its definately appreciated.
Crew Brew VI is now in the firmentation tank. As always, donations are accepted for Detroit Mike's kids so they can come to CBus for a match
Why are you killing yourself with all that sterilizing? You should just be brewing directly to keg form. Besides, you can serve more friends that way.
Jambon-- Thanks for trolling... This beer will once again match the season and everybody's tastes, because, I apologize, Pilsener is in the tank. And, yes, The Brew Kettle will keg it for anybody, but alot of the time I'm coming home with extra bottles. A keg wouldn't make it in my apartment.
Brook you're the man. But I'm going to employ a "shock and awe" tactic this weekend to get you some payment for the following game. Name your poison and I'll have it. Cheers. Have fun crashing out of the CL and watching Arsenal collect our trophy this week
Sorry Brook, I didn't mean to troll. I just remember helping my college buddy brew beer and he had the most amazingly sweet setup. Every week he would brew a new batch and put it in the carboy. By that time one of the previous week's batches would be ready to keg into a 5-gallon soft drink syrup container like you find behind the fountain drink machines at any convenience stores. That would then go into his spare refrigerator that had all the shelves removed and contained a tank of CO2 to connect to the kegs to keep them constantly fresh. Then we would kick back and go to town tapping one of the two kegs present at all times in the magic fridge. It was definitely a few hours work each weekend, but I can't imagine a better setup. Properly made home brew is better tasting than any beer you could ever buy at any price. Truly the elixir of the gods.
The 70 22 ounce bottles are resting comfortably in the fridge at the present time, anxiously awaiting the two hour voyage to Hunt Park Saturday. Because of prior commitments (to be read as "work"), we will probably not be arriving until 1415-1430. And, since it is a Pils, it should quench thirst quite well, weather dependant.
