At least we still have more points than DC

Fair result, really. We played better in the second half. Liked how we looked with Guille. I'm not as down on Gaven's performance since he was actually putting himself — more than any of our other players — in scoring opportunities. I'd rather have that than have someone who disappears for the entire match.

Didn't think it was a bad effort defensively. Just got beat late on a good piece of finishing. But offense was nowhere to be found.

I thought Pearce and Hejduk looked pretty good today, and Gonzo was good most of the time.

Grabavoy didn't see enough of the ball. Gotta fix that.

We need more talent on this team. Too many blue collar guys, working hard but not getting paid.

Agree with that. Hopefully when Guille's on the field FT it will draw some of that attention away from Grabs. Tho, it seemed to me that Guille was drifting into the center some late in the match.

KC wa svery dangerous up front. That puts tremendous pressue on a a defender. They finally cracked and we still can't score. Guille is good but he is not fit.

Well I guess we win some, lose some, and tie a lot. Glad to see Guille.

Absolutely. I'm looking forward to giving Guille a full week with the club. If nothing else the turnout in KC today will make Crew Stadium that much better for his home debut. I HOPE.

Sigi is a good coach, he must be frustrated as hell with the lack of scoring.

I sure hope we can get Ruiz. That would make us a powerhouse. Good D, good mid with Guille, and good strikers with Herron, Ruiz, kamara, Garey, etc.

Disappointing. Felt like we deserved a point. Don't let the "15 shots to 5 shots" stuff deceive you - they had 6 on goal, we had 4. For the most part, we did a good job of frustrating their strikers into taking poor shots.

I thnk the crew's really showing progress... it's unfortunate for us that the rest of the teams arent standing still.. but that's life.

The way KC played today they would have beat last year's team 4-0

KC played a high pressure game against us so we never really found space to knock the ball around like we do so well. They really limited our wing play which shut us down.

Gaven will put himself into a dangerous position but will not make anything of it. At all. Getting dispossessed in the first have and flubbing the cross in the 2nd in this game alone. He has some skills but just isn't there offensively. (Actually, that goes for the whole team)

Defensively we looked good except for the 1 play we lost focus on. And that cost us the game. No reason to panic. KC is going to be a good team this year if they can hold it together.

I just can't shake this feeling that Ngwenya's touch is off almost half the time.

Schelotto is going to make a big difference on this team. His midfield shot probably turned a few heads on our team because the thought of taking a shot from that far out is foreign to us right now. He clearly looked a littls lost at times. (New team, new environment) In a few weeks I have no doubt we'll start to see his impact on the whole team.

Overall, I'm not too surprised by the loss. Now go home and work on our offense. (Again)

Kamara was missing for large chunks of the game and when he did see it couldn't keep it. Grabavoy didn't see enough of the ball . It was like we were bypassing the midfield at times. Schelotto had a few good touches and isn't used to the american game yet, which will come in time. I thought we probably should have lost by more after watching the game. On a sid note...did anyone else think that they never broadcast soccer before in KC. They couldn't follow the action and the announcers were off in lala land.

Five TOTAL shots compared to the opponets 15 isn't going to cut it.

Like the old adage goes, ya cain't score if ya don't shoot.

Ironic, because my Chief says the same thing at times. (not to me of course)

When you find youself in the fetal position after a match, well let's just say you're far past disgusted by the events on the field.

Crew played well v. a very good team away. Sigi tried to sucker punch kc by taking heat in first half and it nearly worked. Gonzo played a great match and yet at the end he was the one who was late coming up and then bit too hard on Burciaga allowing that shot. That's soccer. Ya love it though its not often fair.

Entertaining game to me, despite the low scoreline. And Guille just coming on the field was a thriller.
