New England is in self destruct mode, and we, with one game, have seemingly turned our season around. It won't be pretty, but a game or two ago BA felt a winning streak coming on. We'll see how good Bill really is, but I believe him.

Another fascinating 1-0 win only 8 days removed from the feast day of St. Dunc.

    I'm not voting! :)

Just an FYI, we'll be missing Dempsey this game (his second of a two game suspension).

Looking forward to hopefully drinking a pint or two with a few of you next weekend.

A/The Revs supporters group welcomes everyone to join them that Friday and Saturday night at O'Shaughnessy's Pub. Unless of course you are already going to go see George "The Animal" Steele at Cooper Stadium Friday night.

I disagree. In fact, I don't think he should have been suspended at all. There was no violence or malice in the challenge. Just bad luck for Conrad.

Wolyniec, OTOH, 'bout took Chad McCarty's head off in a game with a clearly intentional elbow a few years back and got nothing for it.

in the footage I saw, it looked intentional. and the guy has a history from earlier this year of trying to be billy bad-ass. I don't remember the details but I do remember the Revs having to beg out of a 2-game suspension if I remember correctly, wasn't it cut to one?

Yes it was, he did a 'sally' swing in frustration at Segares I believe, but didn't hit him for what it's worth.

You're upset that he took a swipe at Franchino?

    Back in Columbus
Franchino's eyebrows would surely have absorbed any impact damage.

    match preview from mlsnet.com:

Always nice when you don't see any new names added to the injury list. Thomas remains doubtful, but hey, at least he's not getting any worse.

yeah, but the dispatch said his calf "strain" is actually a tear, still a strain but a grade 3 strain. I doubt we see him back this season.

Are you serious? I thought he just pulled up short while running. I don't remember any kind of a nasty tackle, but maybe I'm just failing to remember the details of his injury. Man, this guy seems to be injury prone. Does he never do the right amount of pre-match stretching and warm-ups?

You've got the details right -- just pulled up after a run. Perhaps we're getting the idea of why he's been in the German 3rd Division, despite some obvious skill...

Let's hope we can carry some momentum from last week's epic triumph  into the big Razor this weekend.

Truth be told, I'm far from convinced that we've turned the proverbial corner. Our offense in the RBNY win was still far from wonderful, even thought the defense looked pretty solid.

The major factor, in everyone's mind around here anyway, was the return of Captain Kiwi. Well we probably DID get an emotional boost; a little spark of adrenaline from that. That's a good thing. But we still aren't in the playoffs. And an emotional "spark" doesn't last for eight matches. If we don't find a way to start scoring some goals, and quickly, we're in no better shape that we were after the RSL debochle.

We certainly seem to be hitting them at the right time. No Dempsey, and I'm reading this right, they haven't won in their last seven MLS outings.

Hope springs eternal: Crew 2 - NE 1
    Goals: Rozental, Twellman, Gaven.

    Lineup:
    ----------Gaudette----------
    Ezra--Gonzo--Marshall--Kotschau
    --------Retiz---Oughton------
    Gaven------Rozental-----Ngwenya
    ------------Garey--------------

Would like to see Vasquez for Retiz and anyone for Ezra (Leitch).
    I'm not sure how they'll lineup, but I think that's our 11.

Just me, but until Vasquez gets out of his "shoot first, shoot second, shoot third" mindset, I'd prefer he didn't go at all. I like the kid, and I think he's got some skill, but his shot-happy menality isn't getting anywhere -- perhaps if he didn't have to score a goal to get minutes, which has happened 2 years running, then he wouldn't feel so attracted to any shot he can get...

Same lineup as last game for me. It may not be our best, but it got the needed result, and I'm willing to give 'em another go.

*are we ever going to see Grabavoy again? I might have missed his name, but I don't think it was on the injury report.

He's still "recovering" back to full form from the surgery he had for his hernia
