Based on the Dispatch projected, I hope we're in Sigi's "we've been playing a 4-4-2 for weeks" formation, because, with that lineup, Garey would be taking over GBS's spot in our 4-3-3. And where's Migs? Playing Ward is fine, but we're moving DannyO back to defense just so we can sit a starter? That reeks of 'resting' Marcos the first game Chad was out...
I don't see Thomas in the Dispatch lineup. I wonder if he's injured again? Or maybe Sigi finally saw the replay of the wide open miss against the Rapids.
I don't think Sigi will ever do it, but I thought since we apparently are short of defenders (Marshall, Hejduk, Pierce all OUT) and the only other ones left are one's Sigi won't play (Zayner, Ward), we might as well just go with the only three guys he will play. And since we never score, I thought 2 forwards might be a good idea. Edit: Is the Dispatch ever right? Positives: No Thomas. Negatives: why are we benching Miglioranzi? He should play, either in the midfield or in the back.
I saw him in college, several times actually. Garey is a great college player; which is his problem. He simply doesn't have the speed of mind or feet to transition to this level. He has zero ability to create space for himself to get in scoring position which is critical at the professional level and it was grossly apperant even before he entered the league.
According to the Dispatch: ---------------------------------------------- ----------------Hesmer----------------------- ---------------------------------------------- -O'rourke--Hendrickson--Gonzalez--Ward------- ---------------------------------------------- -----Oughton--Grabavoy--Gaven-------------- ---------------------------------------------- --Virtuoso------------------Garey------------- ---------------Moreno------------------------
84 minutes. No goals. I win. I was right. Will you piss off now? By your thinking I have proved my theory.
Actually, he was unlucky not to get a goal and did play very well in tandem with Moreno. He hit the post chasing after a Hartman loose rebound (from a very tough angle), then went past Hartman on another play and a sliding Conrad deflected the shot for a corner. I don't think your theory was proven or disproven by just this game.
Wasn't my point. Missionary thought that if Garey scored my theory would be disproven. By Missionary's standard Garey not scoring proves my theory. Which is my way of saying that Missionarys position was shit in the first place.
