It would have to be "I'm Andy Iro, Koo Koo Ka Choo" to keep the amount of syllables correct. I am the D-back I'm big and I'm black I'm Andy Iro Koo Koo Ka Choo Oh and the Rutles suck...they weren't even half as good as the Beatles. I have always thought in the back of my mind Columbus Crew Who will we blame when the world's up in flames? Columbus Crew edit: Sexy Sadie would work pretty well too cause it's the right amount of syllables.
Only Fools Rush In - either version. Or, Let It Be. Both great songs that a majority people already know or know of, easy to sing, and would sound great coming from a large group of people.
Let it be sounds a little defeatist doesn't it? I know we all love Fools Rush In but we never sing more than the chorus perhaps we add a few more lines into it Also i'd like to sing "wild rover" at some of our games, its simple easy and i know quite a few know the chorus at the least. Maybe if we get really fancy have different groups sing the different verses. ...maybe sing danny boy for O'rourke...nah that'd be dumb...right?
C R E W We represent the Columbus Crew T F C that is it Toronto's team is full of shit Simple and consise, true to the core. We will be singing this come game day...
And this thread is a prime example of why this discussion has been recurring just about every other year here in Crewville since the beginning of time and will never be resolved. I keep hoping that some day it will just happen because there ain't no way it is ever going to be "decided" upon.
Only Fools Rush In worked great in Union last year. We will have to start it and others will catch on. Let it Be would be a great song for Crew fans too because we need to learn how to let alot be. And it's easy. It would be great if one person who knew the whole song was drunk and sang it and then everyone else comes in on the high parts. And we need to try new things like the Andy Iro chant above. Hopefully we try out more and don't just let La Turbina do everything with their spanish chants on opening day. I like their stuff but I hate singing stuff when I have no clue what it means. I feel like a fraud. I like the Andy Iro one above. Have to do it when he is warming up. Even if it's just "I'm Andy Iro woooo" "I'm Andy Iro woooo" "I'm Andy Iro Koo Koo Ka Choo" Brillant. Rep coming
Good too. I like how it plays off of the TFC chant "sorry excuse for a Crew". We have to have people step up on opening day and start chants like this(I'll start this with you). I was kind of disappointed with our lack of creativity last Saturday. We just kind of let La Turbina take over and we kept singing stupid songs that we always sing, "When we come marching in" err ********ing lame. I didn't care that much against Metapan. But, it's important that we are not just standing looking like idiots while La Turbina beats their drums. Also I wish we just did English chants because everyone knows English I feel like a moron when I'm bouncing up and down singing something I dont know. Although that's just me. And some days last year we were real creative and then some days everyone just stood with a debbie downer face. We need to be drunk, loud, and proud.
I completely Agree we need to mix it up from last year and i'll definitely aim to be starting a few I recommend everyone bops over to the "songs for toronto" thread there are at least three or four easy and catchy gems that i'd love for us to sing 1. john carver went over to canada! john carver went over to canada! john carver went over to canada! To see what he could see. And all that he could see was nothing! And all that he could see was nothing! BUT A SHIT FOOTBALL TEAM! (to old McDonald) 2. Kevin Harmse went to nashville and let his country down! Kevin Harmse went to nashville and let his country down! he failed failed there and he'll fail fail here here he failed there he failed everywhere he fails fails Kevin Harmse went to nashville and let his country down! Tyler Rosenlund went to nashville And Let his Country down! Tyler Rosenlund went to nashville And let his country down! he failed failed there and he'll fail fail here here he failed there he failed everywhere he fails fails Tyler Rosenlund went to nashville and let his country down! 3. Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus stood up and he said... WE HATE TORONTO, WE HATE TORONTO, WE HATE TORONTO 4. Barros Schelooootto Barros Schelooootto Barros Schelooootto Barros Schelooootto (like the old Jose Murinho chants at Chelsea) but im horribly redundant with this so ill just head off somewhere else
Just to confuse things (and I still support Only Fools) but how about Bob Marley's Get Up Stand Up or One Love? Both are amazing songs, melodic, easy to sing, and pretty much everyone under the age of 50 is somewhat familiar with them. But as a personal thing you can't beat Elvis. And why don't I do something about it? Because I sit in Sec. 130. If I try and start you have one whack job in the stands singing an Elvis tune at the top of his lungs. I'm more likely to be asked to shut-up and sit down than to be joined by the other people in my section. If this happens it has to start with the supporters section, I will gladly sing along from 130, as will probably Lynne, but I can't start it alone.
Well you guys might guess what my first suggestion would be , but other than that I think yellow by coldplay has a lot of potential if someone played around with the lyrics. or pretty much any song by flogging molly would work
somewhere buried in one of these threads is a modfied version of Yellow that suits The Crew. I remember I liked it and gave it some rep.

Feel free to shoot this one down, but I'd like to suggest "I Walk Beside You" by Dream Theater. The original tempo is a little quicker than say YNWA but I think it would work slower. We can also change the words from "I" to "We" to fit a group. Here are the words: I walk beside you Wherever you are Whatever it takes No matter how far Through all that may come And all that may go I walk beside you I walk beside you
How 'bout Schwarz und Gelb wir stehen auf eure Seite Flank Kopfball Tor! So stellen Wir unsere Mannshaft vor Jezt geht's Los
Not bad @ all, I definitely like the line, For crew I'd bleed myself dry, so far this song gets my vote
Since we already do "When the Crew Go Marching In"... why not try the real slowed down one like this group of epic fans from North London. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuMbrQ5oxJ8&feature=related Just a thought.
