The Crew won! We finally won! Wait... what's that? You're saying... we... we did win? It wasn't a tie?! I don't have to be sarcastic!?! ******** YEAH! So long to the scrubs; now we're really podracing. Unlike Montreal (or Chicago), RBNY is on decent form and healthy and good. On our end, our striker has forgotten how to kick the decorated spheroid at the rectangular thingy that the guy with the funny shirt and gloves likes to stand in front of, AND it sounds like Mensah, Sauro, Francis, and Williams are still working themselves back from injury. So... yay! Getting out of Jersey alive with a point will be a huge achievement. Discuss.
I think the team is starting to realize they need to shape up or ship out, so they're playing with a bit more motivation. However, this is not Chicago or Montreal. NYRB is solid at home. We flat out stink on the road. We lose, it's only a matter of by how many. 1-2 bad guys.
If we can win one of the next two roadies (big IF) it would bode well for us making serious hay in our 5 easiest games left (home vs Cincy, Chicago, TFC, at Cincy, at Van, at TFC).
Y'all get a hug from a loved one. Or maybe I'll bring a case (or two) of the finest suds in Dayton to a match and hand them out in the parking lot.
Had to vote Big Day Coming as I believe that the legend @chr1st gave that as a shoutout to one of my favorite Yo La Tengo songs. Furthermore, the game is on my wife's birthday! Big day coming indeed!!! I'll miss it since we'll be hiking and swimming and eating and drinking all the Berkshires have to offer. But I know that Luis Argudo won't let me down.
Johnnie's Tavern in Boonton. Where Young Daniel didnt so much grow the legend as knee it in the groin.
So a case of Schlitz Malt Liquor or Old Milwaukee ? Wow, what a cornysewer. Just kidding... You probably have the decency to go to Jungle Jim's and pick out something over $8 that might or might not have some dust on it.
I don't know if it's any indication, but I'm no longer leaning against the Crew in my Fantasy leagues. They've been moved to "avoid" in my book. They may win by two, they may lose by two. No one knows where the goals will come from and the defense isn't as porous as it was two months ago.
Is there line up Saturday predictable? I think except for CB our line up will be mostly the same unless we start Diaz Also is Mokhtar have his P1 visa and cleared to play yet ?
I would think you'll see the same lineup with the exception of the injury replacements: Jimenez for Francis and Mensah (if ready) or Croganle (if not) for Williams.
