4-0, two goals in less than a minute. First came after a bad giveaway by the Rochester keeper who up to then had played fairly well and made a few point blank saves including a PK. Then a perfect long ball and clinical finish by JRR for the brace.
I’ve been told the team is much better than everyone else in the league, so it’s not that impressive. I’d suggest the GM did a great job building the roster, especially using his previous Canadian connections to sign guys like JRR and Farsi.
ISTM there's two approaches: 1) Win games and win the league while developing players. 2) Team wins/losses may not really matter as long as the individual player skill gets developed. Use MLSNP for the teaching moments. I'm not saying either approach is wrong, but maybe some coaching staffs have the second mindset.
On a different note, I saw a photo of what was once called "Crew Rock" back in its old spot at the corner of the field near the player tunnel. Lamar liked rocks. It was one of the first rocks removed from the site during construction prep. Some time after 2008, it was moved inside the locker room. Some time after that, it seemingly disappeared. Seeing it back at the corner of the field is good news.
They are clearly the best in the East. We have no idea how to compare them to the Western division since there have been no inter-divisional games.
Here's an article on how the Capybara nickname came to be. And yes, it's fully embraced by the team. https://www.mlsnextpro.com/news/capybaras-in-columbus-the-story-behind-crew-2-s-unexpected-identity
Sunday 5pm HCS Cost: Free via the below link, but "new fans" now take priority due to limited supplies. IDK if he means new Crew fans or new Crew 2 fans. https://www.facebook.com/groups/NordeckeColumbus/permalink/5551444328281900/
It appears some fan (I don't know the guy) used personal funds to buy a bunch. Other people were doing similar for the last game.
Here's the link for discount parking. Make sure you're logged in to your TM Crew account first. https://am.ticketmaster.com/crew/ECFCrew2
This is exactly what's happening. A lot - ok, a handful - of folks are buying their full allotment and then either giving them away or selling them for $10. If the MLSNP Cup Final is in Columbus at LDC and prices are hiked again I think that the Nordecke is going to look into taking some sort of similar action. Or something. Personally: the price gouging pisses me off.
I am extrapolating my full playoff package of 35 dollars (10, 10, 15). If STM prices have been 1/3 of the general public price thus far, I assume the price of the final for the general public would be 45.
I'd be interested in buying at the STH price if possible (either through the Nordecke or PayPaling an STH the $) if the Crew host MLSNP Cup.
One game farsi went from the LDC to HCS and played a half. They only played 20 minutes and are young so maybe?
Double duty for the hype row boat and Mo Farsi the Capy King. Mo Farsi and Jacen Russell-Rowe both start today after getting limited minutes in the first-teams 2-1 victory last night! #Crew96 https://t.co/OkmyyWEUnt— Devin (@devinweisbarth) October 2, 2022
