Dante Washington is in attendance today. There hasn't really been much notable action in the first 20 minutes other than a recent yellow card to a guy from CTU FC. No score at the half. We got a dual set of head injuries (guys on both teams) just into the first three minutes of the second half and play was halted while the medical staff came out. The Crew 2 guy seems to have gotten the least of it, as he was jogging on the sideline while the CTU FC guy got a little more inspection. Both guys seemed to be ok. 75 minutes in and we FINALLY have a goal! 1-0 to the Capys and it's...our boy Zach Zengue who is definitely cementing his case for Capy Of The Year, if there is such an award.

ZZ with the Vermont green played more as a 10 and facilitator of the play. However, the guy just makes great runs as a forward for crew 2. He’s always at the right spot it seems for his goals.

This part! Yeah, it's essentially minor-league, but it sure is fun. Between my subtitles for the last CBJ thread and this thread...no, I don't have lotto numbers. I definitely didn't predict a conference-leading team after last season.
Last year? 22 points and 0.79 PPG. This year? 34 points and 2 PPG so far. Most people who left halfway through the doubleheader have no idea what they missed. OTOH, it definitely made for an easy exit. (And maybe it helped convince the FO to include Crew 2 tickets as a STM benefit.)
There’s a lot of talented kids on this roster. It’s worth catching a game or two for those interested in the developmental side of things. A bit different from the Wray way of Purchasing borderline mls talent like JRR and Farsi. We paid for Gbamblé, but otherwise a lot of draft picks and academy kids. And it didn’t take too long to get back to competitive play again.
