Yeah, this guy is a little bit dreamer! Say that to Don Garber and you already know the answer (sponsorship deals are an important part in the league's sustainability! The franchise may start without a sponsor, but sooner ou later, a company name/logo will appear in the jersey!
You didn't read my post correctly. I didn't say there would be NO sponsor, I said the sponsor logo is unlikely to go inside the horizontal bar like Chicago did with Best Buy. One of Vancouver's best jerseys was from 1999 (when they were called the 86ers). The jersey was red with a white number in the centre of the chest, and a silver embroidered patch for Canterbury Lager underneath it. There was also an embroidered patch for Arco on the tail of the shirt at the back.
here is some quick mock ups the white one was me being lazy not getting rid of the bestbuy, note i used the fire kit.
My thoughts: 1. The Whitecaps crests have always had the wave going backwards. Let's fix this once and for all. 2. Put whatever colours you want in the crest, but the unis should be royal blue and white. Period. No teal, no turquoise, no cyan, and for f**ks sake NO RED! 3. The bar across the chest looks awesome. Not too many other teams do this (Chicago, Middlesborough, Boca Jrs. off the top of my head). 4. The word "Vancouver" or "Whitecaps" across the chest always looked cheesy anyway, just as it does on the Canucks jerseys. Just put a sponsor there and be done with it.
This isn't bad...what would look nice is a scroll at the bottom that says Vancouver. My ideal situation would be the original logo, with Vancouver scrolled at the bottom, and a different ball. The old NASL ball doesn't work.
That's easily my favourite of the thread so far. I'm glad there's no ball in there. Would like the word "Vancouver" to appear above "Whitecaps", though.
Sorry I haven't replied back yet, I didn't see your post. I can't keep up with how many I've done and then lost interest on. Was it this one?
I was actually thinking of this one. It's been very popular here and on the Southsiders board. Simple, classy and maintains the feel of the original logo. My only real complaint about it is the lack of Vancouver on it... [Open mini-rant that has nothing to do with your logo. It's fantastic.] Which is why I'm sure ownership will love it, given the effort they've put into rebranding to "Whitecaps FC". Having done a scan of MLS logos, only 2 don't include the city name in the crest: Chivas (for obvious reasons) and Columbus (one of the worst logos in the league, no offense to any Crew fans who may read this). [/mini-rant]

[/mini-rant]
I like both of these; PG's because of the simplicity, and Thomas' because of the lettering (I don't think you really need a soccer ball, though).
bigger version I hope that something like this is used. PG Tips, I hope you don't mind me using your logo concept to put on this mock up. I think that logo is outstanding, Good work.
i like the mock up, i think it should be darker blue though, more like melbourne victory's navy color
