Brazilian Rookie Creedence Clearwater of Guarani scored twice today aginst one of Brazil's best sides Atletico Mineiro. The tall Creedence used his head for the first goal and then on the second headed a ball off the post and banged the rebound in. Though Atletico still won the game 3x2.

Creedence now has 4 goals in 4 games.

For the young kids here Creedence was named after the American Rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival.

    Let the Creedence references roll.....

    SoccerScout,

I'm surprised you didn't update his goal scoring progress in this thread.

BTW With his goals he should be rollling down the river. :D

No, Fogerty is the guy that plagiarized their style. ;)

All right... I did a Yahoo! search (I admit to not knowing much about this band other than Proud Mary and Bad Moon Rising), and it appears that Fogerty is doing stuff in the CCR style. But it's still not like what Floyd is doing to Roger Waters.

Maybe you didn't understand my subtle humor.

Fogerty was in CCR and in fact was the main artistic influence in the band. After the band broke up, Fogerty lost the rights to their material. He continued to write and perform new stuff, which was very similar to what he wrote with CCR. He was eventually sued for plagiarizing his own work!! I think he lost, too.

Yeah, it went right over my head. Sorry- it was late.

Damn, that's a hard-luck story. I knew he was in CCR, and was the singer, but getting sued for sounding like yourself because someone else owns your sound... man, that's raw.

Creedence failed to score this weekend as Guarani drops another.

    Any references for that?

i know that this might drive this thread off topic, but i have to ask. what in the world did you mean by that last comment, about pink floyd and roger waters? please don't say that you think that pink floyd continued to write music that sounded like what roger wrote when he was in the band.

i'm going to assume that you were talking about how pink floyd continued to tour with many of the songs that roger wrote, and doing so without his permission. if this is what you meant, then i can understand your comment. yet i respectfully disagree with it being wrong.

to try to keep this on topic, how much do you think that his parents had smoked before they decided to name him that?
