The tracker recorded this as an injury sub. Sessegnon had the game's only goal late in the first half.
Looked like a hamstring strain. Robinson looked good after coming on, but he did have the decided advantage of being up against Leon Bailey, who has quickly become a completely useless player.
Brentford yet to play and Everton still going but it's pretty fun that Chelsea, Fulham, Toon and Brentford all just outside Europe with 48 pts each. Chelsea will 5 straight loses, and B'mouth one pt. ahead to grab the last spot (till FA cup results at least.) Still a slight chance for Fulham to sneak that last spot.
Probably directly at fault for one goal and didn't cover himself in glory on the others. Saka cut in behind him after Jedi made a recovery run to support Anderson, and allowed him through on goal. Good news is he played the full match.
And Poch saw everything to know about Jedi in one game. The absolutely excellent and the terribly subpar were both on the full display. he covered ground and broke up, plays at a World class level. He got forward into positions as very few players can. And once he was there with the ball, he was terrible.
Oh yeah, there was one cross he made that went so far over everything I thought "Well, at least the game isn't at altitude, because that ball may have flown into the upper corner of the stadium".
I was glad to read whoever said he looked physically fine just his crosses were off. I am actually heartened to hear about the first part and think the second part is rust. If he can just keep playing and practicing the rust will give way.
He's never been able to consistently deliver good crosses. He seems very hot and cold in that regard. As long as the other parts of his game are up to snuff -- work rate, intensity, energy, combining down the wing, locking down his opponent, he'll be "back"
Issue with the bolded is that he turns 29 this summer with a lot of minutes on his legs, and the aging curve is not kind to fullbacks with that profile.
Yeah, I think that's it and most of the Fulham boards agree. He had double-digit assists last season. I think part of it is that he's never been good at lofted crosses into the box (was a bad pairing with Mitro) - plays much better crosses in combinations on the ground. He's just rusty right now. Fulham absolutely rely on his ability to cover the entire field and erase mistakes. I wish Fulham had bought Tyler a few years ago when Tyler was always hurt and probably available for transfer. The two of them consistently paired together would be something to see. Don't know where the goals would come from . . . for either team . . .
I could see him moving to a LCB in a three back set if he loses some of his speed. He's become a very good defender over time. Even from that role if space was available he could make occasional runs.
Strong agree. Hyperventilating at the (sorry for national team chat) idea of a Jedi - Richards - Freeman back three.
Funny, I thought the same thing. Both Freeman and Jedi could overload one side with well time runs and there'd still be CB's back to cover.
They do as many have fluffed pk's. I do find it hard to believe he never scored in open play since he's done it for the US two or three times I think.
4 in 52 for the US, 4 in 312 at club level prior to today. Today was his first for Fulham in over 4 years - last one was in a 6-2 win over Birmingham on January 18, 2022 in a Championship match.
Perhaps they think he may be leaving this summer and wanted to try to get him one EPL goal as a thanks for all his committed play over so many years?
