Id be shocked if he was still at Fulham after this year
Well it's October 9th so he's had one of the best first laps of a YA season. That said, agree that he's unlikely to stay at Fulham given his level of play. Can see him moving up the ladder, probably remaining in the EPL just at a higher salary than Fulham will want.
Yeah... it is still early in the season and historically the accuracy on his crosses have left something to be desired. I am glad he has started strong but I want to see this kind of effect for an extended period of time. If he can do that then I think he is ready start for a top 5 EPL team. Oddly enough... Fulham are not far off that mark themselves right now as they are playing very attractive soccer. Not confident they have what it takes to crack into the top 5 or 6 and stay there but they could easily finish 8th.
Why? He is on a mid quality prem team. At the next step, it may require things that aren't Jedi's strengths.
Get yourselves to a highlight reel. Fulham trail 1-0 late, but Harry Wilson scores in the 92nd, setting up for the 97th minute ... Robinson playing very high in the seam between RB and CB, and Brentford just never marks him. Jedi receives, goes deep and hits a cutback ball that hits Wilson in the head, and Wilson places it brilliantly for the wining goal, his second in today's stoppage time. GW assist for the Jedi. Make sure to check out Wilson's even better first goal as well.
LOL. I was literally about to write a Jedi review at half that focused on how great of a LB he is until he serves his final pass but decided to hold off to see how things played out. Game winning assist. Very nice. He really does seem to be an elite LB outside of his crossing accuracy... In this one he got into so many great positions to serve a dangerous ball and it just seems like "hit and hope" most of the time. I am sure he has been working on this aspect of his game over the years... If he could just improve the margins a bit more he could be a serious beast worthy of a top 5 EPL Team. What a comeback. Pretty fun watch. EDIT... Another thing I have noticed about Jedi is that he doesn't seem to hit the ball straight thru w/ his laces... his foot always seems to strike the ball at an angle. I think he could be far more goal dangerous if he add that Bundesliga Icon Strike to his toolbox.... E.g. when driving into the box close to near post he could try and beat the GK near-post if he just put his laces through it.
Circling back, Crystal Palace 0-2 Fulham, Robinson playing the full match. Fulham for the moment are tied for 4th with Chelsea and Arsenal, though those teams have a game in hand. Harry Wilson again subbed in late (82'), scored almost immediately (83'), then appeared to score another in stoppage time, but that was denied by VAR.
Wilson scores on his first touch of the game after CP down to 10 men to put it under glass. Jedi had a decent game, but not his best. Had a bad giveaway late in the game that led to a decent CP attack that ironically turned into the break that set up Wilson. It was a pretty even game until the RC. Fulham's first goal from a bad giveaway by CP.
Wolves rout Fulham 4-1. Very ugly for Fulham and lets Wolves leap over Palace/Ipswich out of the relegation zone. Didn't watch, but stat sheet doesn't indicate much good use of the force.
Jedi with a pretty strong match against Spurs in the part I watched. 1-1 draw despite a Cairney red card, and Fulham arguably with the better of play - some boos from the home fans at the end.
Guy is a stud and has entered his prime. Top teams will have him by summer at the latest. (Please let it be Liverpool and not a Manchester or another London club). Then he gets a chance to make the leap.
Actually.man u is perfect for him at the wing back role with new coach. I can see them getting into top 4 with man city struggling.
Jedi is amazing. And got to wear the Captain's band twice in that game, which has to be some form of weird record. He gave it to Tom when Tom came on (as Tom is the team Captain, despite never starting) and then took it back after the incredibly soft red card. There was no intent and very little force in the tackle- studs up get at yellow for sure (which the ref immediately gave) but the lack of force meant it shouldn't have been a straight red. Anyway, getting a road point from Spurs was quite good for solidly mid-table Fulham. Doubt they will rise much farther. Doubt they will fall much farther (barring injuries). Jedi will be gone this summer and I'll be sad for me but happy for him.
yeah fulham def let him go for 40 million; his salary is 50k a week; man u and liverpoool can easily give him 100k ;
