Well...I'm glad that's been settled! Ps...my momma was cooking this stuff long before the bastardization of putting it in a box or can.
We keep winning!!! US crashes through record set only yesterday. 77,223 new cases. 9.07% positivity. 951 fatalities. pic.twitter.com/mQnAYVmlve— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) July 17, 2020 What a sad state of affairs we are .....Simply horrific.
I keep saying this is out of control I've been saying it since the US hit 36K cases per day That was weeks ago
BREAKING: BigSoccer poster Q*bert Jones III wants to see more dead Black people. (I know that that's not where you're going with all this, but it seems to me that a lot of people forget it's not just crackers who live in the South.)
You're the one posting numbers and that goes for MSM too. If we didn't know what was happening it wouldn't be nearly as horrific. It would be like The Exorcist without the Linda Blair scenes. Just an old man falling out of a window.
US posted 9 states now over 2k cases today now. The magic number was 1k for that amount just a few weeks ago. Its just spreading and they have numerous hot spot states now. They wasted their entire lockdown, taking down the economy, for nothing. Shocking mismanagement.
Just go hit the gym and all will be fine! Don't worry about your diabetic granny or obese neighbour or God forbid, your asthmatic co worker. #winning
That freedom exists, here and in lots of places on the net. To be perfectly honest with you, Blissett, something like that's already been done, and the reference was made about me. A poster (whose username I will not reveal, but I believe s/he is marginally Latino, and alleges to be a Chicago Red Stars fan, and whose stock in trade is playing both sides of the fence to laugh at Black people as we dangle from the noose, so to speak) has referred to the Racism thread as "Auria's thread". Almost as though White Supremacist thought is somehow a Black problem, when in truth, it's a White problem that victimizes Black people. It's also important IMO to remember that President Obama never once said or did anything to disparage either sex/gender or any race. He was a fitting president for all of America's citizens, and anyone who felt uncomfortable with him in office felt that way because of the color of his skin. Trump, OTOH, has spent lots of words and time making sure to leave people of color out of the fabric of this nation, and inspired untold numbers of conservatives to kill, imprison, taunt and disenfranchise Black people. Basically, these two things are not the same. One has tacitly or openly approved the shooting of media employees with rubber bullets, the drinking of bleach as a cure for COVID, the physical assault of Black protesters by law enforcement, and the grabbing of women by their genitals. The other is Black.
Talking of that herd immunity thing... maybe not: https://www.sfchronicle.com/health/...rus-antibodies-fading-fast-focus-15414533.php
Things ticking up now in my home Province. In 2 weeks, we've gone from 10 cases pd to 28 now as of today. Our top doctor is concerned enough to have an unscheduled press conference. I think a mask mandate and changed restrictions coming for us soon. We need to go hard and early on this.
My sarcasm meter is detecting sarcasm, but I did not think it was supposed to go off when facts are reported. I think we are trying to get there before school starts and then the problem is solver amirite?
You know, this wasn't that hard to predict. Two months ago, my wife and I were watching the TV and laughing when people were talking about a "second wave." Sure in the Northeast numbers had come down strongly, but in the rest of the country the first wave had either not yet arrived, or was in place but was not declining. How can one have a second wave when the first wave is around? Everybody here saw that, too. It was right in front of us.
This virus won't have any waves...its just going to be a constant, consistent burn until a vaccine or treatment arrives.
It seems random. Suddenly you get a "wave" or whatever. For example, Luxembourg right now is suddenly getting over 100 cases per day. Their per capita number is off the charts. Why Luxembourg, of all places? Maybe they do more testing than the bigger countries?
Honestly, just human nature. I think this thing is insanely contagious. So, as a region experiences low numbers the residents just get complacent. A slight easing off in behavior and wham, back it comes again.
The egg wash helps keep the meal on the okra without getting it too soggy. A damp rinse soggies the okra AND the meal, IMO. I did check with my mom, and she says she doesn't use the egg for okra, either. I was wrong to tell @roby she did. But I do, dammit. The meal doesn't stick for me any other way. I don't use a wash on fish, either, but I don't fry it much. I put it in a cast skillet and sear it up with peppers, shrooms and onions.
Thanks to my ex's many lectures, I think I got a pretty good idea of what he was saying. The details, of course, are likely beyond me.
