Your statement did not do the same for Brazil, you did not say that some states in Brazil are doing better than Sweden and the UK in some hand picked comparisons, just that they are ignoring their President and trying to help. I said many US Governors are also ignoring Trump and trying to help. Why move the goal posts?
Dude you are the one that said even in Brazil some states are deifying their president and helping (and they are), I said that in the USA governors are defying the president and helping (some are). How come I have to show the AB "proof" when you didn't? Is like you understand that Brazil is a federation of states, but then forget that the USA is also a federation of states.
I had my last therapy session yesterday. Went to my follow up with my doctor this morning. I saw this while in the waiting room. When I was in the hospital this was immediately dismissed as an option due to the science. At that time I was okay with it. Finding out that it was essentially junk science has me pretty hot right now. I also learned that any improvement to my lungs/VO2 will be minimal. As a competitive masters racer that essentially means I’m done racing. Not the most important thing in my life but it hurts. Had the studies been legit I’d like to at least think I’d have had a say in the matter. My body my choice and all that.
That is what he does when he can't reframe the debate. Come on now, you have been here long enough to know that.
AB is pretty good with data and analyzing information. He is not wrong in the conversation we are having, just that he superficially threw something there to make his original point stronger that IMO does not help his argument.
missing the WC in 74 was mainly due to this guy missing the others probably had other reasons... poor field maintenance and a leather ball were common in the 70's throughout the footballing world and were not the reason for England's shortcomings
It wasn't "bad science". It is unverified data that is now suspect. The science behind the study was sound, but the scientists contracted with a private company to provide them with the data they used for the study and that company is refusing to the data to a third party team that was going to validate the results of the original team. Since the data can't be validated, the original authors retracted the study.
I remember as kids a guy asking something like that in a park. I’ll show mine if you show yours. We just threw rocks at him and called him dirty names. We didn’t know it was called Reciprocity
Dude are you really saying that there are no governors in the USA defying Trump? It was not a question on how well they may be doing it, In Brazil the Governor of Rio de Janeiro is one of the governors that most defied the Brazilian president, yet Rio is getting hit pretty bad, because of population density. So sure Rio may be doing worse than Sweden and the UK in some metrics, but that does not mean the governor did not try to do more than Bolsonaro. Shit he clashed with Bolsonaro, so much that now the governor is being investigated for corruption
I don't know what metric you're angling for, nor do I know what you'll shift to, but just to cut out the bullshit, here are the Deaths/1M and Cases/1M for Sweden and the UK: 452 & 4149 for Sweden 593 & 4175 for the UK Here is the list of US states below both those sets of figures: Hawaii Montana Alaska Oregon West Virginia Wyoming Vermont Idaho Oklahoma Maine Missouri Kentucky Texas South Carolina Arkansas Florida Nevada California Washington North Carolina Ohio Arizona Utah Wisconsin Kansas New Hampshire North Dakota Tennessee Alabama New Mexico States below the two countries in Deaths/1M population, but above in Cases/1M population: Georgia Colorado Minnesota Indiana Mississippi Virginia South Dakota Iowa Nebraska States above Sweden in Cases, below in Deaths, and above UK in cases, below in Deaths: Delaware Maryland States above Sweden in both, above UK in Cases, but below in Deaths: Michigan Pennsylvania Illinois States above both countries in both metrics: Connecticut DC Rhode Island Louisiana Massachusetts New Jersey New York
I might be wrong, (Dave can speak for himself), but I think that was Dave's point... that the report had been withdrawn on one basis but that basis was, itself, suspect. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52929916 https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(20)31324-6/fulltext Some of the studies have started up again it seems.
a pitch of any size or condition was hardly available at any age... first thing we used to do before playing our games was clear off the broken glass from the asphalt... safety first!
It was withdrawn because the authors didn't have faith in their results. However, it wasn't because (as Dave said) "bad science" it was because of bad data. That's two very different things. Bad science is studies like the vaccines cause autism study that Lancet published where the scientist intentionally alters or misinterprets the data to reach a desired conclusion. Bad data is situations like this where the data provided to the scientists is bad (or unverifiable) and, as a result, the conclusions drawn by the scientists are not correct.
All the schools I attended from the age of 8 had huge playing fields. They're probably built over by now.
I don't disagree with any of this. I was also going to compare unemployment numbers and dates lockdowns were lifted, as well as estimated R-0.
I can name 5 states that defied Trump. California, Illinois, Ohio, New York, North Carolina. Name me 5 states that defied Bolsonaro.
Go right ahead. I wanted to get actual data in the discussion. I don't care who wins this ********ing argument.
I feel very blessed and fortunate to live where I do today. The island I live on has 1 million people, but as of yesterday, doesnt have 1 test positive case on it. My province, 5 million, is now clocking only double digits of new cases, in an entire week. We have about 35 people in hospital in the entire province. In fact, our top doctor even made it into the NY Times today for how well she handled things. Thank you Dr. Henry for guiding our province through this. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/05/...z4ppU2H60N0M_xbw4js-KwFkOAgF0zQrsf4wbo4WSUhNY
