That rather reminds me of the Daily hate-mail's response to the plastic bag 'tax' over here.

It's actually a charge that all shops have to make for supplying plastic bags to encourage people to reuse their old plastic bags or use linen or paper ones. The hate-mail referred to it as a 'tax', (coz the tories just LUUURVE them a tax they can rail against).

The hate-mail had a Baldrick-style 'cunning plan' to avoid the 'tax'... people should bring in one of their OLD plastic bags or a linen or paper one to put their shopping in.. THAT would fool them

 

There are no plastic bags in New York, paper only.

I am with you, Harry. I keep writing, DeSantis can go after school boards with mask mandates, and it's never going to work. Not every school board is pro-mask, pro-vax, but the urban and suburban boards that are will not just fold and let DeSantis tell them they can't protect their kids. That will not happen.

 

Exactly. He’s losing a lot of the voters that the GQP gained in 2020 in traditionally democrat strongholds. Add to that all the people that is dying in red counties, and they might lose a lot of seats in the state, plus the governorship and Marquitos’ seat.
