The hygienist that cleaned my teeth said an uncle of hers got Covid and died. At his funeral, 10 more members of her family got it with three more dying.

Point is, for every story like the one our latest troll posted above, there are 550k+ that are way different.

You know what I'm sure of, that the 98% statistic is 100% made up BS.

The number of hospital admissions alone around the globe are all the proof one needs for that.

This virus has a solid 20% hospitalization rate. Mild disease does not send one to hospital.

This assumes a correlation between surging areas, desire to be vaccinated, and lack of access to vaccines.

About 2/3 of new cases hereabouts are high school and college age. The numbers in my home county in WA are high enough that we may be moved back to stage two. We've already re-limited the size of group gatherings back to fewer than ten. It's clearly coming from student living groups, and the county is prioritizing vaccines for the WSU students starting next week.

Similar percentage across the border in ID, but lower numbers overall, by far. The UI continues to be vigilant on testing and vaccination, much better than WSU ever did.

Congrats! Stay until April 21. Then you have some flexibility in how you interact with others.

It's not just the hospitalization rate, but it is also the death rate is higher.

Not quite. It assumes that access could be better and also assumes that the vaccine helps mitigate the spread (which is not saying that access currently sucks).

So why not make it more accessible in those areas where the situation is more urgent?

Is it not accessible to people who want it in those areas?

Of course. What other tag does one put on a thread about pandemics?

Ever since the beginning of the FA there has been a disease that victimizes football clubs. Chivas USA was the last MLS club to fall victim.

What's your source of the "solid 20% hospitalization rate?"

According to Worldometers.info, they state 99.6% of all cases to be mild.

    But keep fearing it...

    You're wrong.

    2,921,424 deaths/ 135,004,941 total cases (x100 to get %) = 2.16%

    Screenshotted from that link:

    upload_2021-4-9_13-34-50.png

    EDIT:
Before you get there, I see where you are looking at active cases. But the new strains will probably move that graph a bit. And do you really trust all those numbers? WAKE UP!!!

This may come as a shocker, but COVID deniers are often not the sharpest tools.. There are a lot of fervent COVID deniers that are not aware that you have to multiply by 100 to get the percentage and, as a result, will scream at the top of their lungs that COVID's fatality rate is only .0216%.

Also it was hailing in Hamburg all week - therefore in my perspective and experience only, climate change is nothing to worry about

Yeah but if you don't count all the people who died - it's mainly fine!
