At the very, very beginning I told a friend that the virus was something that wasn't going to be politicized. Boy was I wrong.

Well, I thought Trump was toast the first time he degraded John McCain's military record.

The 21st century GOP is full pf surprises.

the phase where he was trying to simply be the biggest shit-disturber and get attention, with no interest in winning anything.

and very few of them pleasant.

I thought the same thing, given the GOP's love of all things military. Though once I saw nothing happen to him, I had a feeling.

As for the vaccines, I was expecting the usual left wing crunchy types to be against it (Toxins!), as that is their thing.

I'm still amazed that top professional athletes have social media accounts that they personally post on. I mean, why? Unless its to showcase the side affects of going to college for sporting reasons or the consequences that multiple concussions can have, why bother? Surely they aren't that desperate for attention.

Ozil seems to carefully craft his tweets before sending them. A bit of an exception. At least I can see how that benefits him.

But then you see these guys post those 1-line politically-sensitive brainfarts. Just seems like a really bad idea, in the cancel-culture era, to open a social media account when you are famous and have no self control over posting whatever thoughts enter your head for millions to see.

I will say that the surprise came to a lot of us in that this is the first time we have really had a cult-of-personality as a candidate then leader of our country. I know ASF warned us, and I would guess people who were born in countries with that kind of experience could have fairly easily pointed this out. But with that type of leader, something more interested in the power and attention/adulation, most of us were not really prepared for what happened. And that he still holds sway over the Republican Party is a sign that the cult is still strong.

Because for so many of the athletes out there, the rest of their lives are heavily crafted. The socials allow them to be away from that kind of management. Plus, it can also allow some events to be non-sanitized by their pr/management team.

Some will be better than others.

And I would guess that many also do a combo.

Some US states need to pass some legislation to protect workers trying to enforce covid related rules. Just like this English workers union is asking for in England.

Often multiple people have access to the account

So Ozil can post via the app and does from time to time

But also stuff comes from his social media flunkey and also via agencies

Covid ActNow had my county at about 66% for almost a month... today it says it's 59%. That has me wondering.

Shocked I am to hear you've found a silver lining in this plague wiping out people of European descent.

It's less about the European Descent as much as it is WYPIPO and their near magical ability to claim victimization all while supporting a socioethnopolitical structure that keeps even the worst of them largely insulated from the consequences of their actions
