You'd have to convince them that the deaths are actually real.

You'd also have to convince the megachurches to stay closed. A lot of them were PISSED they were "forced to close" even though, at least in Ohio, there was a religious exemption in the bans of gatherings over X many people. I'm sure a lot of them won't comply next time, even though they're the "Comply or Die" party.

    18,200 per year?

That's, what, the size of one soccer-specific stadium? You'd have to have somewhere around half a decade for the typical attendance at an NFL game to die.

Yes, the numbers are higher than zero.

But to MAGA, it's not worth doing anything over...and they're the ones who need to hear it.

    ...unless I'm missing something.

What you are missing is that COVID-19 is now less of a threat to human life than the flu, although it is still a significant concern.

The 300 or 350 deaths/wk is an alarming number. But in context, sleeping well, drinking less ethanol and exercising regularly should be more of a concern than COVID-19. Not smoking goes without saying.

    He said “less,” not “no.”

So build up to near-lethal levels, then cut it down by 10%. Rslfanboy will be down with that.

I really wish I could go back in time and lay down hundreds of bets that they'd all do total 180s on their beloved TrumpVaccineTM.

"Hey lib! You gonna get your TrumpVaccineTM?"

    https://trumpwhitehouse.archives.go...-president-trump-update-operation-warp-speed/

Nevermind that COVID-19 somehow became "the Democrat hoax", the problem is that they've done themselves in. One of those jackwads was trying to tell me that "pride is a sin" (we're coming to Pride Month, after all), but it's ok for Daddy to be proud of the work He did for His vaccine.

    MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

You cannot make this shit up:

Some random right-winger is upset at Rage Against The Machine because they had COVID vaccine mandates for their shows. (I doubt this idiot would have seen RATM, but maybe he was one of the ones waving the flags to Killing In The Name). "I liked Rage BEFORE they went WOKE."

I assumed he didn't get his "Trump Vaccine" and reminded him that everyone at Fox News did.

He came back with "anyone that took that fkn shit is a fkn moron especially you!! :ROFLMAO:"

I came back with "Trump is a moron considering he took it" and hit him with an AP news link, which I'm sure he thinks is fake news.

The idiocy of MAGA never gets old.

But wait! I thought private businesses had the right to do as they saw fit. I guess that just applies to gay wedding cakes.

  15. Uhm, recently it's discovered that covid/flue can awake dorment cancer cells in people, who were declared (sort of) "cancerfree".
Research has shown that the risk of dying increases significantly for former cancer patients.

“Don’t let Joe Biden take credit for the vaccines … because the vaccines were me, and I pushed people harder than they’ve ever been pushed before .. The vaccines are — there are those that say it’s one of the greatest things. It’s a medical miracle.” Trump said on Nov. 26, 2020, during a news conference in the White House.

Can Anonymous hack the White House TVs to show everything DJT said in 2020 and 2021 about the COVID vaccines?

A police officer was killed by a crazy person who blamed the COVID vaccine for his health issues.

    Way to go Donald!

This is quite common. Not the shooting part, but blaming the COVID vaccine on poor health. I know 2 people who blamed the COVID vaccines for their health issues. One claimed he had to have open heart surgery because the vaccine caused it. The other blamed something else ( I forgot what) on a pre-existing condition.

There was a neighbor who passed away a few years ago. He had health problems for a while. He owned a glass installation/repair shop and had been inhaling the tiny dust particles since the early 1970s. He had a chronic lung disease that he was eventually going to pass away from, but as soon as he took the COVID vaccine (required for surgeries), he blamed the vaccine on his failing health. Somehow, it wasn't the silica-type dust particles he was breathing in since the Nixon administration.

She’s fine, she doesn’t want to take the vaccine anymore, and she did later get Covid, but nothing serious. I’m not a biologist, but I would think the occasional reaction/allergy is to be expected. No reason to take the measures that are being taken, what Kennedy is doing is idiocy. Dangerous idiocy.

The list of medications that don't have some side effect in some small percentage of the population is vanishingly tiny. Or, as I tell my young epidemiologists when I first hire them: the human body is complicated.

I'm glad your sister is doing ok. :)

    Right.

What pissed off my sister is that her doctor was dismissive and ignored her when she told him about the side effects, and she was scared. I think the doctor was skeptical because of all the bullshit that was going around with the vaccines, so when a situation with a legitimate side effect happened he didn't take it seriously and didn't handle it correctly.

I had worked with that doctor myself, at Kaiser, back when I lived at the OC, and i though he was in general a good doctor, until that situation happened, which he really mishandled.
