Talking about horse racing, this is one of my favourites: I think she got that dude in the background
Did you guys see the story where some German dude took over 200 Covid shots?!?!?!? Apparently, he’s fine. Took all types he could get. They suggest he was selling vaxx cards for travel, but no charges made? Also, Covid measures seemed to knock out one of the 4 flu strains that are included in the flu shot each year. This does simplify the shot, but I’m more than a little perplexed that an mRNA shot hasn’t been developed that doesn’t require a live culture.
179267 use google translate if interested. https://www.ad.nl/gezond/nederlande...ad-virus-meer-dan-50-keer-gemuteerd~a89a8714/ Dutchman (72) died after having corona for 613 days: virus mutated more than 50 times A 72-year-old Dutch man has died after being infected with the coronavirus for 613 days in a row. It would be the longest corona infection ever. During that period, the virus managed to mutate more than fifty times, causing the patient to develop its own variant. Binnenlandredactie 20-04-24, 19:31 Last update: 21:30 I feel sorry for this man's ordeal. For the scientists however it's a rare opportunity to study the behaviour and mutations in a human test tube of the corona virus. The mutation process being inside one person for that long time means you have "uncontaminated" data, because no interference from unknown causes that might have an impact on the direction a mutation takes.
It never ceases to amaze me, these Republican attacks on Fauci. Republicans ramp up attacks on Fauci (yahoo.com) Just this morning a veterinarian friend posted on FB that he (Fauci) "didn't follow the science, he's a dangerous man, actual doctors and scientists were silenced, fool and a shiester, charge him with perjury and crimes against Americans." This is someone I've known since the mid eighties, someone whose wedding I officiated, someone who in many respects I think highly of... ...and yet the attacks on Fauci are baffling (and of course the one or two ding dongs chiming in with "he's evil"...that sort of nonsense), I don't get it. The strenuous effort on the right to vilify Fauci, what purpose does it serve? The Pandemic was real, roughly 1 million Americans died, Trumps response seems far more reckless and consequential than Fauci's... ...I just assume Fauci was doing his best to keep Americans safe, I don't doubt that there were errors along the way, misjudgments perhaps, much of what we witnessed was unprecedented. But all this time and effort on Capitol Hill to go after Fauci...what's the point? Americans were duped into getting vaccines that were unnecessary? Fauci made things worse than they needed to be? Rather than roasting Fauci how about if we take what we learned and try to be better prepared for the next pandemic? Maybe this is just the latest manifestation of the anti-science world we're now living in. I can't wrap my head around Fauci as the villain in all of that.
You're seeing an re-enactment of the Salem hysteria. All the result of inbreeding among the gop evangelicals.
MTG seems to be the worst... Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) told Fauci he should be “prosecuted for crimes against humanity” and didn’t deserve to have a medical license. “You belong in prison, Dr. Fauci,” Greene said. Putting the partisan hysteria aside, it just seems like a colossal waste of time and money. It's bizarro world stuff.
A lot changed along the way with the pandemic and the virus itself. That alone has lead to a lot of revisionist history. The ancestral strain, and Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omicron variants were all wildly different viruses. That, combined with many Americans insular and limited view of the world is a dangerous combination.
Per capita? Id be surprised. Here in Canada, we absolutely have our share of idiots too, buts it's a loud minority for the most part. We had a super high vaccine rate, but that quickly tailed off. Not because people became anti vax, but they recognized the situation shifted as the virus shifted and overall situation shifted.
It's certainly true that we had nothing like a major political party actively campaigning against the vaccine, but we saw the same freedom convoy nonsense and a lot of people went off the deep end treating the whole thing like an Ur-conspiracy
It's incredibly convenient to scapegoat him -- he's a government employee after all -- you know, part of the "Deep State." Trump mishandled the pandemic so badly, they need to find someone else to focus on for all the failures. Ironically, the one thing Trump did right was push to get a vaccine. One he refused to take and encouraged his followers to avoid. They all seem to miss the point that it is a fact that people that supported Trump died at a higher rate once the vaccine came out, not to mention that he killed off a previous GOP Presidential candidate after he was infected at one of Trump's superspreader rallies.
yep, it's an attempt to set the narrative for the Magats in advance of the Dems' campaign ads - deflecting attention in the campaign from Trump's nonsense,
Agreed - and it ties into the general issue of who was President in 2020 These people were all working for Trump lol
Well of course Fauci is at fault for all those people who died! What does a doctor know anyway, it's not like he went to medical school or anything. They should have listened to the Commander in Thei...uh I mean Chief, and injected themselves with bleach or fish-tank cleaner
Interesting article on how the orange idiot used social media to sow distrust of the Sinovac vaccine in China and various countries in Asia, most consequentially the Philippines. The article suggests it was done in retaliation, which certainly would be consistent with the orange idiot's modus operandi on most things. The disinformation campaign was ended by the Biden administration.
