I've never had a reaction to a COVID shot, not even a hint. Meanwhile, every time my kid gets one he's flat on his back for the next 36 hours. The power of Boomers, I guess.
The first was the worst for me. The first five were all Moderna. Just got the Pfizer booster an hour ago, so time will tell.
Just got my latest (6th?) Covid shot this afternoon, and a flu shot while I was at it. Kind of a Friday vaccine happy hour. Anyway, I’ve never had any post shot reactions, other than the occasional sore shoulder. But, hell, jab a needle in your should and what do you expect. Anyway, walked in, no appointment necessary, and got $10 credit on my grocery store loyalty card. Easy, peasy.
My double dose today was the second shingles and the Pfizer booster. We'll see how this weekend goes.
Got covid and flu shots today. I generally don't have issues with the covid shot, but the flu shot makes me feel bad for a day or two, so a Friday is a good day for this - I can take it easy for the weekend. My wife and kid have their shots scheduled for next Friday so they can recover for the weekend while I take care of them.
I'm sure shingles is fake, just like Covid, smallpox, polio, influenza, black death, mumps, measles, ebola, malaria and beri beri. They're just an attempt to chill your inalienable rights and plant mind controlling microchips. Just chug of liter a bleach every morning and you'll be fine.
Both shingles shots kicked my butt with extreme prejudice. But based on my brother's experience with actual shingles, they're worth it.
I’ve had chicken pox as an infant, again in kindergarten, and then (possibly shingles) at about the age of 10. The last one was absolutely miserable. Scabs in the mouth, throat, ears, scalp were all especially miserable. Luckily none on the eyelids or around the genitals/rectum, which I’ve heard are another level of misery. I have already tried to get the vaccine, but I think you need to be 50+ or 55+. Can hardly wait!
It is. It contains an adjuvant to boost the immune response which is known to cause reactions. It's for 50+. Doctor was nagging me to get it the last couple of years so I did it this year. (I have no history like you, except for getting chickenpox as a kid). Sore arm for 3 full days. Makes other shots seem like a walk in the park! Incredibly effective though.
I know I'm in the decided minority but I had shingles and it was utterly painless for me. I didn't even know I had it until my brother asked what was wrong with my face. I looked in the mirror and was like, "Gotta go!"
I had it about 20 years ago. Consisted of a bad rash and some discomfort, but nothing too horrible. So far with the pfizer Covid booster shot yesterday just a sore arm, nothing else.
My shingles bout was about 30 years ago. Looked like a line of spider bites following veins across my back. Had to pay for some expensive pills but they worked and it went. Had this seasons Covid, flu and RSV shots. No problemo I have been avoiding the shingles shot though.
Shingles was awful. My first dose the pain took 36 hours to arrive and then I was very aware of my arm for two days. Second dose has been 36 hours now, and I'm feeling pretty good.
My doctor talked me into taking this yesterday. "It probably only going to make your arm sore for a while" she said. I feel really bad today. Everything hurts. I have a headache. I'm exhausted. My legs below my knees are numb. And I can't skip out of work.
Oooooohhhhh. Bummer. Just got back from the family getting Covid and flu vaxx. Wife and I did the flu nasal spray. My youngest, who has been a champ previously, just wasn’t up for it today. I had to restrain her as she got the shots in either leg. Lots of crying. We are at home taking it easy now.
That settles it--I'm scheduling mine on a Friday afternoon, when the weekend weather forecast is "Stay inside and watch some movies, it's gonna suck out".
My wife and I are struggling today. The girls are too, except the youngest who screamed when getting the shots. She’s fine. It sucks. Her energy is ruining the rest of us.
I take it back. I picked up the youngest from daycare. She spiked a fever and had to go home. Just woke up from a nap. Rough day.
But you do start drawing lines and that's the problem. We've seen plenty of examples of the truth being shut down when questions were being asked. Just go back to Covid started with a wet market meal..... Does anyone still think that is true?
I have no idea if that is true but are you arguing that it has been clearly and substantially disproven? Unless I have missed something very substantial, the entire basis for the lab leak theory is that there was/is an institute of virology in Wuhan. To me this theorizing is equivalent to the 101 possible theories about the JFK assassination. Whatever explanation is offered when it comes to such big and world-changing events, there will always be people who refuse to believe it and look for other answers.
